For Lake Walcott State Park: Very well maintained with a friendly host. A great site for bird watching with a long trail that boarders the lake. Park was built by the conservation corps in the 1930's and has details of fine workmanship. Expansive picnic areas. Arrived mid midweek in May and campground was half-full. But it was booked up for the weekend. I would recommend reservations anytime during summer

For Lake Walcott State Park: Great state park campground. We stayed there for 5 days on site 19 which does not have neighbors on the camp side. Lots of trails and great for bicycling. close to the lake for swimming or boating. Has very nice Frisbee golf course on site. Sites are easy for big rigs.

For Lake Walcott State Park: Great get-a-way for the evening away from the interstate. Beautiful lake, walking trails, and perfect in Site13. Showers and restrooms are clean. We would stay here again if passing through.

For Lake Walcott State Park: This campground was beautiful! Well maintained and private. Every site is a great site. There are lots of trees so lake view sites are really just peekaboo views and the center sites have those views as well. It was very quiet, set back about 20 minutes from the interstate, and only about one hour from Shoshone Falls. It was a perfect 2 day stop over so we could see the sights. It was easy to reserve online, and lots of last minute sites were available. Beware of bugs and wildlife....you are on a national wildlife preserve. This state campground is definitely on our list to visit again!

For Lake Walcott State Park: Very clean quiet campground. We overnighted in February and had the campground to ourselves. About 15 miles from interstate.

Mark

For Lake Walcott State Park: This camp site is a well maintained site in the middle of Idaho farm country. The site has a dozen RV sites located in a single loop, with a centrally located bath house. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Tent sites are "walk-in", meaning that you cannot drive up to the tent site. Worst case, you may have to carry your gear about 75 yards. Having a rolling tote is a help. Water faucets are closely located to the tents, but was out due to a broken pipe. We had to get water from the restrooms, water faucets in every restroom, under the sinks.

Rupert is about 11 miles from the park and Riley's Grocery store has all supplies that you need. They have ice and a propane tank exchange with Rhino. All roads around the area are two lane.

The dam has a siren that goes off if the spillway is opened. It sound allot like a tornado warning. It went off as we were packing to leave while it was raining. I write this to alleviate any stress over that.

This is a clean well-maintained camp site that is not really crowded. (Used during the Eclipse). Staff will help you get water if needed. It's a good area to camp.
