For Chain O Lakes State Park: Nice State Park near lots of places to visit. We stayed in site 115 - was fairly level, backed up to woods. Some sites are tricky- slanted. Bathrooms were clean but could use a rehab. Out of season, but beach looked nice, lots canoes, kayak rentals. Nice camp store. We went into Shipshewana for Amish tour and to Blue Gate theatre for dinner and show. Had great time.

RetireToRVLife

For Chain O Lakes State Park: We spent a week here in mid-June of 2018. Generally a decent campground with showers and washrooms which are dated but semi-clean. Overall the park is clean, no litter and they have a well stocked camp store with long hours. Sites are spaced a reasonable distance from one another, however, there is hardly a level site in the whole park. I noticed many travel trailers were having the same issue and had their leveling jacks nearly maxed out to achieve levelness. During mid-week this park was maybe 10-15% occupied, on father's day weekend, it was 90% filled according to the park manager. Lots of activities, less than an hour from main Amish areas of Indiana.

The Travelin' Gal

For Chain O Lakes State Park: We stayed here over the July 4th weekend in 2014 with two neighboring sites for a family get together. We booked early and were able to get two large level sites with some space between us and the other campers. By the end of our stay, the restrooms looked very used due to a full campground with only electric and water hookups, but that was expected. The park had lots going on such as patriotic tie dying of shirts for all ages. We used our own kayaks and traveled through the chain of lakes with many others. We also hiked the parks many trails and enjoyed the playground facilities with family. The Park was well supervised by park staff and noise was kept to a minimum after hours. We would stay here again even on a fully booked 4th of July weekend! It is a lovely park with lots to do!
