For Lake Fausse Pointe State Park: Arrived Feb. 6, 2023 for two weeks site 28 in truck camper. Not much change from last time. Nonexistent Verizon phone reception and only MIFI that worked weakly was ATT nighthawk m 6 their newest device. Park no longer has a camper user WIFI. Still half price for seniors. Excellent place for kayaking. Nearest Planet Fitness in New Iberia and is a nice facility. Roads around the area are bad. No TV reception for me. Staff friendly helpful do frequent rounds. About 50% or less full. Some water between sites and on trails.

For Lake Fausse Pointe State Park: The campground is open. We had a campsite by the water with a deck. Nice park with trails. No AT&T phone service. There is WiFi but it only works near the cabin area. Laundry had a sign saying cold water only and do not wash white clothes because water may stain them. If you approach park from the south you need to travel about 25 miles on unpaved roads. Approaching from the north meant using a bridge undergoing road work which meant it was a narrow one lane and bridge was also unpaved. It wasn’t a problem for us as we have a van but guy opposite us with large trailer wasn’t happy with the bridge.

For Lake Fausse Pointe State Park: The park is surrounded by water and subject to periodic flooding. I stayed there in a truck camper and kayaks from January 14 to 28, 2019. Sites are long, narrow, with the electric boxes close to the pads. Sites 28-40 are electric sites ( 25$per night) on the canal and have wooden platforms over the water. Most have tent friendly platforms. About 20 ft between sites and they are spaced to give more privacy. Sites 13-50 have full hookups but some not on water. I never used park restrooms or showers. Anytime Fitness 40 minutes in St Martinville had nice facility and showers. Wifi only available at interpretive center and weak. Minimal cell phone service of any type, even with booster, Verizon very weak. To reach mainland go 8 miles and cross a one lane bridge. Park roads could use improvement. Boat noise apparent at times. Staff friendly and helpful with local information. Even in Jan. some mosquitoes. Popular weekend destination with hiking and canoeing trails.
