For Fourth Cliff Recreation Area: We stayed at site 14 for a week in July. Overall we really like the location. Pros: - beautiful views - easy beach access - great customer service - we didn’t use it, but there were paddle boards, kayaks, and canoes for rent. ice available to purchase at the office. - at site 14, you can park behind your spot no problem - great Wi-Fi - 40+ made it through the pull through. It’s tight but doable. Cons: - leveling is challenging but doable. make sure to bring extra leveling pads - It was generally windy the whole stay, so be cognizant of awnings, canopies, etc - No recycling - make sure you have bug spray, the week we stayed in July (during heat wave) the horse flies were everywhere

For Fourth Cliff Recreation Area: Like Mr. Hatcher, we were assigned site 17. We have a 35 foot class A diesel pusher towing a Jeep Grand Cherokee. It’s impossible to level the coach in site 17. When we were close to level the rear wheels were off the ground; a no go in a diesel pusher. When I lowered the rear to get the wheels back on the ground, the left rear is 9.5” low and the right rear is 8” low. Also, the whole place is very tight, and sites are too close together. Views are spectacular, but we won’t be coming back.

For Fourth Cliff Recreation Area: 8/21/18 We are parked in site number 17 with a 27.5 foot 5th wheel. It’s okay, the showers are nearly a block away. It’s okay, the laundry services are just past that. The negative, that shocked me is how un-level site 17 is. I’ve used every board I have and elevated one side of the RV 6 inches and we are still not level. And the site is steep. I’ve dropped the nose as low as it will drop and have the rear stabilizers as high as they go. All sites are very close together a very close 10 feet. Will we come again - yes. But next time I will be better prepared. There’s nothing to do here but look at its beauty and walk. That’s okay, we like that.

Traveling with the T

For Fourth Cliff Recreation Area: we had a really great week but we would probably not visit again.? There isn't much to do here other than the beach and?this location?is in need of some updating.

Cost:?$35 a night for electric, sewer, water, cable, and internet. $15 for no hookup campsites.

Pros:
-Beautiful views of the water.
-Great cable and internet.
-Our highlight was exploring during the extreme low tides and finding different sea creatures. Crabs, snails, hermit crabs, starfish, shrimp, and small fish can easily be spotted around?the rocks.
? Laundry available in building #6 $2.50 to wash and $2.50 to dry.
? Fire pits on the beach (none at campsites)
? Sounds of waves crashing while you sleep.
-Beautiful sunsets and sunrises.

Cons:
-Several rv spots are no longer in use because of beach/road corrosion.
-Some of the rv spots have the hookups on the wrong side.
-The bathrooms were dirty and full of spider webs. Note: we don't use the bathrooms (I prefer using our rv) but I always check them for a review. I?checked twice in a 3 days span?and noticed the same trash was on the floor, no paper towels, ect.
? No security. Gate is wide open for anyone to come through. No id check. They only asked for id when we checked in for our site.
? No pool or park for the kids.
-Small campsites. We got lucky not having neighbors most of the week so the kids had room to play and ride their bikes but if someone would have been there it would have been tight quarters.

Things to do nearby:

Scituate Lighthouse:?25 minutes away
Town of Scituate:?If you are already visiting the light house I also recommend walking around the town of Scituate. Several cute shops and restaurants.
Boston:?About an hour or two away depending on traffic.

Chris Porter

For Fourth Cliff Recreation Area: My wife and I were scheduled last week for two days to stay at Fourth Cliff Family Campground. When I called ahead I told him I had a 27 foot camper with my truck comes to 42 ft. We were scheduled to go into site number 6 however we could not back in because the pad is only 21 feet long.
There were cars parked all along the front on the fence and so it's very hard to turn around luckily there was somebody that was leaving Insite number 8 because that is the only way that I could have gotten out. Was the wait for him in the back yet and then back in just to get out of there. Sites 6,7,8 & 9 are not made for long trailers maybe pop ups and that's it.

For Fourth Cliff Recreation Area: We had a wonderful experience at 4th Cliff Family Camp. We we on Site 7 facing the North River. Getting into the site with a 26 foot trailer was a little difficult. You should think about backing down the road from the office to your site. A short nail biter and then a glorious view. Bathroom facilities and small office store were nice. There are plenty of stores within a short drive to resupply if needed. Sites are a little tight, but you have unlimited space aling the shoreline for a picnic and other family excursions. Hope this is the first of many visits

For Fourth Cliff Recreation Area: Surprised and delighted at this best kept secret. What a gem of a place. Small so you need to call ahead for reservations, ask for a cable box when you check in and you will have more channels you could ever ask for. They have Wifi but it does not reach the camper area. If you need it just head to near the office. I opened the door of my camper and the ocean and the sound was there. So beautiful at sunset. Very close to Plymouth, MA. Would have stayed longer but I didn't call ahead. Well worth the $23 for full hook-up. They also have beach houses. I was sooooooo happy.
