For Annapolis FamCamp: Good location to visit DC. MWR/ITT lady was really helpfull and super nice. Camp grounds need someone to care for them. Grass needed cutting when we arrived and dump station not capable of handling a big rig.

Gaynelle

For Annapolis FamCamp: Quaint small campground that we are enjoying our private little spot in campsite #4. I gave 3 stars only because the campground needs a little updating, but it is functional and pleasant as is. They are starting bathroom renovations June 25 ( have not started as of this writing June 27) no problem. Love the area of Annapolis and visited downtown yesterday... great time! I will be back here as it’s not as sterile as most campgrounds 😍

Powerarranger

For Annapolis FamCamp: Rustic describes this property pretty well. So does unkempt. Folks here are quite friendly and helpful, but the sites are not well maintained. I've stayed here many times because the price is right, but when it rains the concrete pads become slippery and treacherous due to the accumulation of leaves and mud. Voltage at the power poles is too low to run my A/C at times. Bathhouse was recently refurbished and has heat in the winter, which is a nice touch.

I will say this is a nice and quiet park compared to some others that have loud PA systems for bugle calls on the property (looking at you, Ft. Meade) and there's very little military noise other than the odd chopper. The sound of the boat whistles on the river is kind of soothing. Occasionally the midshipmen will have a training exercise in the area. One time I almost ran over a middie on his run at dusk because he was wearing camoflage and was practically invisible, so drive carefully through the park!

Christmas

For Annapolis FamCamp: The staff from the office saw us drive by the main office at dusk and followed us in to the park and was very friendly and helpful. We have not seen the Camp host. The main road through the park is rustic and with the leaves and being close to dark it as hard figuring out where the road was. We drove straight once and took a turn to the left and discovered we had started to drive into a campsite. We had a short back and were able to do a loop in to an open area to get back on the main road. The shower area did have paint problems, but the restrooms were extremely well heated and they have two very nice adjustable shower heads in each shower and one is detachable so the shower experience was actually quiet nice. The other good news is that most military RV campgrounds have jets or helicopters and this one was very quiet.

We have been traveling for over a year and have used a lot of military RV parks because we know that we can usually depend on them being from good to excellent. This is exception to that rule. I hope that this one can improve and meet that standard in the future.

For Annapolis FamCamp: I have seen COE camps described as "rustic ' that are better .

No 50 amps cable or Wi-Fi. No sire dump.
Not big rig driendly.
Might be ok for a weekend in a tent or small trailer.
Could not recommend it to any RVer I know.
Does not accept Sr passes.

Shell

For Annapolis FamCamp: Check in at the blue jacket bldg, NOT the MWR. This is a nice secluded and quiet campground. The bathrooms are newly painted and have new vanities and fixtures as of fall 2017. The paint is peeling in the shower which causes slow drain sometimes but they get cleaned everyday and clogs we're cleared the next morning. It's not on the secure side of base which was a little different so technically you could get random people in there. It's such an affluent area that we stayed for three weeks and didn't see anyone like that. By far the worst part of this campground is the camp host and organization booking everything. We came on a Sunday night, camp host had no idea where to put us and didn't have a schedule. I never once saw him come out to greet any new campers or to help them get situated. When I went to check in Monday morning they wanted us to move, which I didn't want to do until my husband was back from work. They worked it out so we stayed and didn't move but it would be nice to know what spot you're assigned to, even if it's a weekend. They also asked a camper to move their rv to a different spot because simeone else was bribing a linger trailer and needed theirs. When the new person showed up, their rig was shorter than the one they asked I move. Ridiculous. LThey have a portable sewer dump so that you can dump without moving your rig, but the hose is broken and it's unusable. When we needed to dump we drove 2 minutes over to the gas station where's there's a nice dump. The signs say that you can dump a small portable container but not your full tank. Don't know why. There are a couple of long term campers there that are way more helpful than the pretty much useless camp host. All in all, for $22/night, it's worth the price.

Andy

For Annapolis FamCamp: Everything stated in the Brenda from Tucson review is still accurate as of 4/21/2017. The bathhouse was being renovated/painted this week. The dump station was still coned off with signs to not use it but the camp host was dumping his RV. It's a shame there is so much money being spent at the base there and they still haven't trimmed trees, graded and added more gravel. Several trees should be removed as well. If someone arrives after dark and has not been there before they probably will not figure out where to make the final turn down a dirt road to the campground.
