Dwayne

For Camp Meade RV Park: Nice camping site and staff. Sites are VERY close together. Nice laundry and bathhouse facilities. Starlink is possible from about half the sites (it’s a fairly wooded area). Cell service is fine on Verizon and AT&T. No wifi is available except on certain buildings.

Glenn

For Camp Meade RV Park: Sites are nice pads with full hook ups. The staff at the RV site are very nice. Grounds are overgrown, WiFi does not work most of the time but the reason for one star is there onbaording process for service connected disabled veterans. Visitors only get a day pass regardless of the time you are staying on base so every time you go on and off the base they will need to get a new pass. It’s a logistical nightmare if your staying for any length of time. I was informed by the VCC office that the only real reason they allow service connected disabled veterans on base is to increase there revenue at the exchange and commissary. Roger that! Needless to say my 60 day stay turned into 1 day.

Layne

For Camp Meade RV Park: We’ve stayed here several times. Eas to get to/from I-81 (hate traveling around the beltway!) Perfect place for visiting friends who live nearby. Easy to get to shopping around the area. Only 20+/- miles from the New Carrollton metro station, if you want to go into DC. Plenty of space. Great area for walking the dog. Plan on using Mapes gates, either end. They’re the only ones open.

Dee Mac

For Camp Meade RV Park: Stayed Dec 11-28, 2020. Use Mapes gate now, about a half mile south of Reece gate (which has closures especially on the weekends). Easier access with a left on Ernie Pyle and right on 85th. Not all map apps show the new construction at Mapes gate. Surprisingly busy for this time of year yet we had a nice stay. We had a glitch getting our access code and spot before arrival but it was rectified quickly and all was well.

Grelon Williams

For Camp Meade RV Park: I canceled my reservation for June, back in April and never received my money back. Called multiple times and they assured me that it would be refunded once they got back in the office. Avoid this campground.

Khaalis

For Camp Meade RV Park: The location is safe and secure. It has solid concrete pads and setting up isn't much of an issue but parking your truck if you are hauling a rig is kind of tight. They have a nice fishing pond across the street from the campground, and decent hiking trail. The fire pit/grill is really low, you need a lot of charcoal to get the heat high enough to grill. No cable or WiFi, and you get bad cell service. Even though the costs are not too bad, they even charge you on your departure day and have you check out by 1100. It's fine if you want a no frill and starter location to camp, but beside that, it's not worth it.

Kina

For Camp Meade RV Park: At this campground the site is exactly what you get. They have pull through and back ins. Some of the sites are better than others but it’s not reflected in the cost. It’s pretty much the luck of the draw. There is NO WiFi here. Not even the one that you can rent. Good luck with cell service. I’m getting spotty reception with T-mobile and my friends that came to visit with Sprint and Verizon are getting the same outcome. There are no tours available, karaoke or any events planned for the visitors here ever. They do have free coffee on Friday. Also, no weekly nor monthly rate. Take that daily rate and multiply it by the amount of days that you plan to be here. The justification for the price is their location. I’ve stayed in much nicer campgrounds and have spent at least half of what I’m paying here.
