For KOA Journey Mackinaw City: Mike and Cheryl here. We have a 44 foot Class A RV. Here is my review of the campground at Mackinaw City KOA. Getting to the campground was good. The roads in the campground are gravel and in good condition. The trees seem to be trimmed back so not to hit the RV. The campground office was open and everyone was friendly. They have a small camp store. There is a large parking area at the office. They provide an escort to the site. Sites have fire pits and they sell firewood. Our site was 76, a deluxe in pull thru with a gravel drive and cement patio area, with a metal dining table and chairs, plus two adirondack chairs and a gas grill. There are no good views of anything, but the campground is pleasant and has nice grounds and forest. Our site was level. The site was dry. We did not notice any seasonal folks. We did not use the bathhouse, but they looked nice. There is a pool but no hot tub. I do not remember a rec room. No workout fitness room. No deli on site. The grounds are nice. They have cable tv. Wifi was OK. OK Verizon cell service. There are several good sites including 76. Sites 95 - 101 are good. Sites 70, 63, 57 and 50 are good. I would come back. Basketbug

For KOA Journey Mackinaw City: This is a nice clean campground, sites are a good size, all gravel. About 1 1/2 mile from downtown. Free Shuffle to Ferry. Great restaurants in town. Staff was always nice and very helpful

For KOA Journey Mackinaw City: Sub-par facilities, even worse management, and they have more rules than communist North Korea. Sites are small and mostly dirt and firepits unsafe for use, especially around young children. Other parks and campgrounds in the area offer a much better experience. Try Mill Creek or the couple state parks close by (Wilderness SP or Straights SP). It's surprising what poor ownership can do to a campground.

Mike

For KOA Journey Mackinaw City: Clean but dusty gravel everywhere glad it didn’t rain because would have been lots of mud. Bathroom clean, laundry room playground and a pool. All you would expect from a KOA. Campground is close to the local attractions and out (gravel) site was level. Not a resort, by KOA standards. But a good choice for this area.

For KOA Journey Mackinaw City: Very noisy city. No proper mufflers on cars, nor motorcycles. Trucks use Jacob brakes. The guy beside my campsite has a loud music system on hopis picnic table. He has been notofied twice, but he turns up the volume again. Thamcity policemeven came and just waved at this neighbours who shouts at everyone on foot...

Florida Streamers

For KOA Journey Mackinaw City: Nice KOA very convenient to Mackinaw City, Mac Bridge and UP. It rained the entire 2 nights we were there so we can report the roads stayed passable and most sites drained off well. We had site 26 which was completely level. WiFi was strong so that we could stream TV episodes on our laptop that we have missed while on the road, even though raining. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice large laundry room; a little pricey at $2.50 per washer and per dryer, but they held large loads and did the job. Bathrooms were kept very clean. Would definitely recommend this KOA when in upper Michigan.
