For Camp Dearborn: We came to visit family in the Detroit suburbs and booked this campground for a week. We had an RV spot with full hooks but were amazed to see all sorts of camping here from cabins, bring your own tents as well as tents you can rent. Some families have been coming here for a few generations. There is a lake for swimming, fishing, kayaking and a golf course. The cute town of Milford is nearby with restaurants and gift shops.

For Camp Dearborn: This an amazing park and piece of history. We met a couple in their 80’s that came when they were young, now with their grandkids. Our stay was during the pandemic. Not many of the attractions were open. It was a clean, quiet, place to stay in the suburbs of Detroit, go figure. At $35 for full hookups it was a bargain.

Dr.P.

For Camp Dearborn: Huge park with many activities for the family. There is a golf course, miniature golf and lakes to swim or fish in.
Why the mediocre rating?
1. The park is in desperate need of maintenance and updating. (It appears that the park is saving lots of money by skimping in cleaning the restrooms and showers.)
2. It would be hard to stuff one more site into this park. (It is a little tight and everyone from Detroit must have visited this park while we were there.)
3. The individual sites were laid out by someone who had never camped. (Who thought placing the sewer connection uphill from your camper was a good idea?)
I'm sure lots of people love this park. Unfortunately, we have camped in many private, state and federal parks to compare this park to and it pales when stacked up to others.

Sunnybrook

For Camp Dearborn: We really enjoy coming here. The sites are paved and maintained. There are many restaurants and a few deliver to the park. In season there is a canteen with huge ice cream cones, food and daily outdoor dj dances. There is a lot to do here see the website. Also besides miles of road to ride in the park, just outside the park are bike trails that will take you to Kensington Metro Park or Milford. It is a huge property and is really busy in the summer so they have their own police patrol cars. We come in the off season for peace and beauty.

The water here is really rusty with high iron content it stains the public showers. You will need to bring a filter for your RV and I also bring a Brita or Pur filtered pitcher for drinking water. Milford road is being repaved and curbed. Northbound is almost done they are starting Southbound. It is a long road from I96 to get to the park. Expect delays.
