For Lower Falls - Tahquamenon Falls State Park: Dirty, crowded campground. Many better places in the UP and N Wisconsin.

For Lower Falls - Tahquamenon Falls State Park: The strength of this campground is its location, close to the Lower Falls of Tahquamenon Falls, within walking distance. That said, it is a state park, so bathrooms were OK but nothing to get excited about. We used 30AMP and had to back the trailer into a weird angle because of the great distance away from the hookup. One hookup serves 4 sites, so bring an extra cord! No water hookup for us at least, maybe not anyone. Dump facility was excellent. Park is truly wonderful, amazing and everyone should go!

For Lower Falls - Tahquamenon Falls State Park: If you accept the campground for “What it is” then I would say it’s great. Only hookup is electric (30 and 50 amp available making A reservation during summer months is suggested) so make no bones that this is A “campground” and not an “RV resort” make sure you have A long power cord as some sites have better access than others to the hookup. But it was like an old time family camping trip. No tv reception or cell phone service in our case so it was campfires, card games, and lazy days with the radio on like when you and your parents pitched A tent decades ago. The park is A nice place to be with the upper and lower falls being attractions unto themselves. Since we had no water hookups I used the camp showers which I found totally acceptable and clean. Area restaurants are limited so plan ahead and bring food, that being said the Camp 33 brewery and restaurant in the Upper Falls Park was excellent and Brown Fisheries (cash only) in nearby Paradise, Michigan was also excellent. So tips:bring plenty of cash, plan on no internet, bring some food as A look on the map regarding the camps location should tip you to “local amenities” To be fair there are some, but they are definitely limited. Have fun!

For Lower Falls - Tahquamenon Falls State Park: Nice campground. Decent size spaces. Bathrooms were clean and showers were good. No pads, just dirt, but have found that throughout Michigan. It is a beautiful area with great hiking.

For Lower Falls - Tahquamenon Falls State Park: Found a level site but most are muddy after rain. Could use some gravel. Restrooms neat and clean. Showered in the RV as the bathhouse wasn't heated

DS VT

For Lower Falls - Tahquamenon Falls State Park: We were looking for a campground that would allow us easy access to hiking trails around the Tahquamenon Falls area. We're self-contained and don't use the facilities except for an occasional shower. We camped here on weekdays in July.

There are 2 campgrounds at the lower falls - Hemlock and Portage. Both are convenient to the falls and hiking. We stayed at Hemlock. This is a nice campground. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a variety of sites - sun, shade, short and wide, long and narrow, level and not. Sites are electric only and there's a convenient dump and water station. There's no wifi. There's no ATT coverage. There was a usable Verizon signal.

The lower falls were 1.5 miles from our campsite on the road and .6 miles via trail. The upper falls were 4 miles (one way) via road or trail from the campsite. The trails were well maintained and marked.

AL

For Lower Falls - Tahquamenon Falls State Park: I loved this place. The falls are great and the trails to them are nice. The bugs could be bad depending on what time of year. The battle with those at sundown was a bit frustrating. But hey, it's the UP and forest.
