For Minneopa State Park: Rustic, “old fashioned” style campground. Well suited for smaller rigs and tent campers. Sites spacious and private. Trails nearby. Facilities barely adequate for the amount of use/visitors. Verizon 2 bars.

For Minneopa State Park: We enjoyed camping at Minneopa State Park over Labor Day weekend. It was busy and kids were everywhere on bicycles, but our campsite felt private and quiet hours were truly quiet. We loved the beautiful waterfalls. We drove through the bison area twice, but never saw them. We hiked the well maintained trails down to the MN River where people were fishing and watching the kyackers paddle by. There were considerable mosquitos, but we didn't get any bites. A nice park and a place we'd definitely visit again.

For Minneopa State Park: My wife, daughter, and I went camping at Minneopa for their first ever tent camping trip. We stayed at site A24 and had a great time. The campsite was rustic but more than adequate for our 6 person tent and SUV. We had neighbors next to us but they were very quite. Even the larger RVs with lots of kids further down the campground observed the quite time hours. My wife (who used to consider "camping" anything less than a Hilton) said the women's bathrooms were very clean and I would agree for the men's facilities.
The waterfalls were great to see and the rangers were very friendly. Overall, we had a great time, found the campground to be a gem a little over an hour from Minneapolis, and I have a household that can't wait to go camping again. What more could you want?
