Casa

For KOA Journey Joplin: Ok not great for the price. Sites were level. Management was professional but cold. Oddly you need individual passwords for each and every device to access the WIFi which barely works. Bathrooms were clean but had to remind them to restock toilet paper in toilet. Some sites quite wet due to rain. They did their best to manage that. Some highway noise but bearable. Make sure you go into Joplin to see all the big things in a small town.

Jim

For KOA Journey Joplin: Stayed one night passing through. The area is quite and the grounds appeared to be well maintained. The cable TV is horrible and the pool is currently closed. However, the price is not reduced because of the pool.

Cooper n Georgie

For KOA Journey Joplin: Great laundry, a cart, a table, all washers and dryers work. Good OTA TV, AT&T 4 bars 5G, Verizon/Spectrum 4 bars LTE. I had plenty of data and didn’t worry about WiFi. Good stopping point with the amenities I needed.

MICHAEL ROCKWOOD

For KOA Journey Joplin: Terrible Wifi, cable TV A+. Pass it by if you need Wifi. Not a good experience but an OK layout. We asked about strong Wifi and at $54 we should have received strong Wifi. Error messages due to weak internet, will connect when signal improves. Worst stop in 3 weeks. Sorry.

Anne Kemerling

For KOA Journey Joplin: Grassy sites with next-door neighbor’s sewer hookup 3 feet from where we sit under our awning. Absolutely NO change in policy for Coronavirus. Insisted on face-to-face check in at site with a credit card signature using her pen with slips of paper for the WiFi codes. Clerk could hardly muster a kind comment or smile. Can’t wait to move on. I would NOT stay here again especially while virus is active. I don’t understand this place!!

Kim

For KOA Journey Joplin: Ignore the nay sayers. I’ve been traveling first from Cincinnati, via I 70, eventually to end at Zion River RV Resort (truly a five star plus) and then began my return via Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma and then Mo. This place is stellar compared to any thing between here and Zion. Mind you, I left two places prior to stopping here, I’d rather drive than stay in a dump. I was meet at the closed camp reservation area by the staff member who lead me to the site and helped me hook up in the dark at 10pm. All the utilities are in excellent shape, site was shaded, level and clean. Clean place, cute pond with duck and fish food provide free to hand feed both fish and ducks. Though it is close to the highway, the sounds of tree frogs and bugs chirping drowned out any sound from the highway from all but the noisiest of trucks. I was in a truck and travel trailer in site 764, full utilities, including WiFi, satellite (I got 28 stations, 2 were fuzzy).

Miss Piggy

For KOA Journey Joplin: We headed north from Oklahoma into Kansas and then Missouri. This KOA is typical of the better KOA chain parks. Large easy to access sites. We were in a pull through at 88 and it was quite long. The utilities are tucked neatly in a light post that stays on 24/7. There were nicer sights that had swings and patio table/chairs on a concrete pad but we were just overnighting and opted for the simple picnic table. They have a small but grassy dog park. A nice fishing pond with ducks and free duck good at reception. Several nice cabins surround the pond. There is a section by the perimeter for long term but they were all neat and tidy. The cable only worked for a few channels for us but it was a new tv and I could have been operator error. Nothing to fault here, others talked about the highway noise but it was faint to our ears. All in all, a good stop. Clean well maintained campground.
