This is a very nice campground and very quiet. The road getting here off of Missouri Highway A, is narrow And a little bit bumpy. How were the trees are trimmed back to 14 feet above the road surface as directed by Fire Dept The little store here is quaint and has just about everything you might need for a weekend or a week camping. I will definitely return. I did enjoy it.

Stayed 25-27 Aug at their dry camp Rustic #2. Located near the water edge. Pit toilet close by. 12 sites to choose from but sites 1-5 is water side. The sites 6-12 are sort of on the higher level. Follow GPS to the check in office. Its closed at 1700. Site 3 is good location due to the tall trees from the East side that can keep your rig cool longer. Check in staff is great and professional. Booze store across the check in office. Theres other restroom and shower on the other sites (FHU) but its the high side and no easy access to the water.

No water pressure. My gauge had it at 17 psi. Couldn’t use my shower. Took 2 hrs to fill up my 80 gallon tank. Had to fill up tank and use my RVs pump in order to take a shower. Boat rentals were priced good. Boats were decent condition but the tube we rented deflated and we had to quit. Told the staff and nothing more then “huh” was said. Figured they would have at least said “we apologize and we will look into that for the next customer”. Park was nice and quiet. Staff was busy checking on things and cleaning. We did appreciate that. Full hookups are on top of the hill and furthest away from the lake. Partial hookups are a bit closer. Primitive tent camping is on the shoreline. Staff is friendly for sure. Country store was closed. Guess due to the COVID. There was a local resident selling firewood at a decent price on the side of the road. Sold on the honor system. Just place your money in the box. That was just a few miles before the camp sites. Road is horrible to drive. Blacktop was good except there are several washouts that are a foot or more at the edge of the road. Road is twisty and visibility around the hilly sharp curves will leave you worried about what’s coming. I did get my 42ft 5er with my dually down there. So glad I didn’t pass someone on those curves with the same setup as me. Will I go back? Of course I would. I would just be prepared to have no water pressure, bring my own tube, be ready to make ice runs for the coolers, and cash for the firewood neighbors.

03/28-31/17 10 pull-thru, full hook-ups at top of hill. 17 back-in, elec/water only on hillsixe overlooking lake & closer to bahhouse. Bathhouse has only 1 shower stall so is not ideal for in-season use. Quiet, only 3 others in the elec/water section about 5-7 in full hook-up section. Quite removed from any "in town" activities.

The good- Free laundry, bbq and fire ring, level concrete sites for FHU, National Senior Pass rate. Excellent satellite reception in FHU. Quiet. Helpful check in.

The bad - grass not mowed, bbq and fire pit not cleaned, 20 miles of narrow, twisty, low trees road, 22 miles from any real shopping, partial hook up sites very small, all sites have no patio areas.

Boat rentals at reasonable prices. Cabins look very nice.
