For Meramec State Park: Road accessing the park is steep and curvy, but negotiable. If you are arriving after hours, stop at the Visitor Center on the way in and get a campground map as the layout is very confusing. Hopefully the CG booth will be open to get directions. We watched many drive around trying to find their site. Nearly all sites Reservable, few FC/FS. Sites good sized, paved and level. Sites Electric only. 2 Dump stations available. The Fischer Cave tour near the campground was great! Biggest complaint was no enforcement of the rules, loud music, etc.

For Meramec State Park: Fantastic! A Normas sights and close proximity to the water. Beach is not much but super easy to float. FYI this address is wrong. If you follow it you will end up in a residential neighborhood near the country club and the high school.

For Meramec State Park: Beautiful location. Lots of first-come sites. Staff was really nice. Due to the storms there were very few people here. So I'm not sure why the guy mowing the lawn felt compelled with starting at 7:30 a m around the only 2 sites that were occupied. Very rude.

For Meramec State Park: Beautiful park. All spots in Campground #2 appeard very level. Campsite was clean and grass well maintained. Great hiking trails. Cave tour was excellent and many wild caves nearby. Stir had anything you may need. Staff was excellent. Kids had fun exploring the trails and swimming in the river. Campground #2 had deer roaming in the grassy areas inside the campground. Short drive to local shopping and restaurants. Meramec Caverns about 6 miles from campground as well as Onondaga Cave which is a must to visit.

For Meramec State Park: Spending 3 days here. It's a very nice park. It's a shame the Missouri can't invest some money in improving some of the full hook up sites. We pulled in the afternoon after a heavy morning rain and our reserved site was to wet to use. A very friendly park ranger pulled up and told us to not even try to use the site, but to look for another drier site. We found a great site with full hook ups. The ranger drove by and took care of making the change with the registertration person. In spite of extremely hot weather, many peopler were floating or canoeing on the river.

The campground hosts are very helpful and friendly and patrol the entire campground frequently up until 10 pm.

All in all, a great park, but the state really ought to try to make some improvements in some of the sites.

For Meramec State Park: I just returned after spending six days at this park. I think the park itself is beautiful but, my campsite and most I saw were not due to turning into ponds and mud holes if it rained. I had to deal with mud and wet rugs the entire time I was there.
