For Whitefish Lake State Park: Sites are beautiful and spacious. Heavily wooded and a nice boat ramp. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. Downside is the train next to the campground.

Gus

For Whitefish Lake State Park: This camp ground has a couple of good things going for it: free hot showers and only 2 miles from Main Street of whitefish. Downside...as they say on the SP site, “the children will love the trains passing nearby...” Lesson 1, “the children will love” means “WTF am I in for?” Do you want to camp 20 yards from a train track...where there is a train going through EVERY 30 MINUTES 24 HOURS A DAY? Ok you will never find a more perfectly located camp site! I am serious about 20 yards and every 30 min every hour 24 hours/day, some of them are the 100+ car oil tankers. OTOH, if you’re a Canada to New Mexico hiker or bicyclist you will be pleased to find about 6-10 dedicated sites just for you and after 75-100 miles on your bike that day, you probably can sleep through anything and will relish these sites, which have dedicated electricity/recharge, cooking shelters and, of course, the hot showers. (Yeah, I’ve done that too.) BTW, don’t envy the CG Host, they’re about 5yards from the tracks. 2stars because it’s very clean, not rowdy, and there are hot showers.

Ld

For Whitefish Lake State Park: There is not a dump here. Trains are very close and have to signal a nearby crossing.

Lara

For Whitefish Lake State Park: Don't stay here unless you are hard of hearing. Large freight trains right next to our trailer every night ... All night. It would be a beautiful campground if it weren't for the trains. 2 nights was enough for us.

SuLu

For Whitefish Lake State Park: Right on train track. Staff not super helpful. Said trains every 3 hours, it was more Like every half hour. &23 plus $2 for each shower. Our table right on road. Not a great place for $. Sept 2014

JJ K

For Whitefish Lake State Park: I would give negative stars, but it won't let me. There is a train that runs about every 30-45 min. The tracks are about 50 feet from the back of about half the spots. On a plus note they do offer you free ear plugs at the pay station. Very limited lake access, no trails as the park is bordered by a railroad track and private property.

Park seems to be well kept.

We stayed one night as that was all we could stand.
