For KOA Holiday St Mary East Glacier: We had a great time at this campground. Whatever issues they had w/bankruptcy etc did not affect our stay early Sept 2022. The location is amazing, incredible views in every direction. There’s a good store, clean laundry w/good working machines, playground, fenced dog play area, pool and hot tub, RV propane fill up. All kinds of campers are here, using all types of gear, pursuing all kinds of activities. Great access to Many Glacier and Going to the Sun Road; you can walk to fish in the St Mary River and Lower St Mary Lake. Services were limited in St Mary because we were there after Labor Day - restaurants were closed or open short hours, grocery store had very low inventory, some NP programs were over, etc. Bad haze, smoke and air quality from fires in southern Idaho for the last days of our stay, but that isn’t the campground’s fault.

For KOA Holiday St Mary East Glacier: Warning — I booked a site at this KOA for July 2022 and just got a letter from their bankruptcy lawyer telling me that they have filed for bankruptcy and have no obligation to me. The name of the company that operates in owns this is Eagle Bear Inc.

For KOA Holiday St Mary East Glacier: These people have their business plan right. Fully stocked store, small restaurant for breakfast and dinner, they'll deliver pizza to your site, etc. They know how to maximize return per camper. Staff is wonderful, views are spectacular, sites are gravel but mostly level, patio sites are available. Yes, it's a bit more expensive than some, but consider the location and the short season. Top of the line camp.

For KOA Holiday St Mary East Glacier: Np was full road to the sun closed at Apgar due to fires, hot tub and heated pool were great after hikes.

Steve Goppert

For KOA Holiday St Mary East Glacier: The campground is well named. There are 360 degree views of the mountains or wooded hills everywhere in the upper, away from the lake, part of the camp where the RV area is. Looking around I decided the best sites where along the western or northern perimeter where you can get the most unobstructed views. There are open fields on those sides. The facilities we used were very nice. The trinkets for sale were of good quality, there was a good selection of necessary things for us RVers. There is also a coffee and ice cream bar. The ice cream was yummy. All the cabins I walked past seemed to be well kept and in good repair. There was lots of grass and scattered trees in the upper section. I took a walk on a very nice nature trail in the lower part next to the lake. The were cabins there were nicely sited at the edge of the trees. The tent sites looked fantastic. Each one in the mixed aspen wood with lots of vegetation separating them. The lake was accessible and a couple of tent sites next the lake. We certainly would come back. Overall it was tops so we gave it a 5 star. A word about forest fires. Our 2017 trip to West Glacier, there is an exceptional KOA there, was totally ruined by smoke blowing north-east from fires as far away as California. Then there was the fire on south side of lake McDonald. The same is true this year except the fire was on the north side. This year we learned of two tools t help us avoid the smoke and fires: 1. Inciweb where all fire incidents are displayed on an interactive map. Fire status is updated daily. 2. NOAA’s hazard mapping system that shows a color-coded smoke density updated daily. Your search engine should find the sites with no problem. This year the smoke was abated by some rainy weather coming through and many of the fires abating. Hope this helps.

DLMS

For KOA Holiday St Mary East Glacier: We stayed at the St. Mary KOA for 4 nights in late August. Cost was $75 per night. This is campground has many pluses including close proximity to Glacier NP, full hookups, nice clean bathhouse, nice laundry facility, playground, family oriented, Red Bus pickup, spacious sites, well stocked camp store and gift store. Some sites for larger rigs even had brick patios with grills and lawn furniture. Our site (C1) wasn’t very level but most others appeared to be. There is also coffee and ice cream on site. Even better you could order a pizza there which was actually very good and they deliver it right to your site. Really nice when you’re been out all day hiking and enjoying the park. There is also a BBQ dinner and pancake breakfast everyday which we did not take advantage of. The only things I didn’t like where lack of trees at most sites and the cost. Having said that, the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and I would stay here again if I were back in the area. Almost forgot to mention there are bikes, kayaks and paddle boards you can check out to use. And there is a nice trail down to a lake.

Sallie

For KOA Holiday St Mary East Glacier: This is a very nice park, although in my opinion it is pricey ($80). Staff was very friendly and helpful. I particularly liked one feature: at your convenience you can order a pizza (which is very good) in the office and tell them what time you want it delivered to your campsite. That was a very nice perk. One thing I did not like - their internet and phone service is nonexistent unless you are a Verizon customer. We also had no TV service. We could not cook out because the wind was so bad, we were afraid we would start a fire. Other than those inconveniences, the campground was good. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome, towing a car.
