For Big Eddy Campground: The gravel access road between the highway and the campground has several very wide and deep potholes, but the campground loop itself, and the sites, are reasonably smooth. The gravel is thin in spots, so the access road and campground loop could become muddy in the rain. It’s downhill from the hwy to the campground loop entrance, then the loop and sites are on a sloped hillside. The first 2 sites on the loop are more private than the others. All sites have at least partial shade. The nearby river is easily accessible and attractive. This campground appears to be less used than others nearby, possibly because there is no fresh water supply or trash service. There was only one occupied site midweek in June 2019.

For Big Eddy Campground: Amazing!!!! So quiet and only a few sites. Bear boxes, vault toilets, tables, fire rings. And totally free. Cool off in the river and enjoy the scenery.
