For Armstrong Brook - Mount Carleton Provincial Park: Note:We were only there for 1 night. We arrived mid afternoon. The centre of the park is an open field. We requested this for a quick get away in he morning. Pro’s: Nice new park gate office. There is fresh water and a dump site. Con’s: Highway 180 is bad. Road to the park is bad. The road in the park requires a grader. Very few field sites are level. The parks biggest issue are the geese. You could not walk without stepping on their excrement. It was everywhere in the field and beach. I had to herd them away from our site even though it was already covered. They’re too familiar with the field, trailers and people. You can get within feet of them. The Park Superintendent, NB Parks have made no effort to control. The geese have a too easy of a flight access to the field. They could add a scattering of trees etc. to hinder their needed length landing and takeoff flight path. And don’t tell me it’s meant to be “natural”. It’s a field….in the middle of a forest. Stone beach. CASH ONLY (no internet) No site services, no power or cell service for those that may need it.
