For Jackrabbit Mountain Recreation Area: Beautiful campground that caters mostly to tent camping. I’m here in early October with the leaves beginning to change and there is no camp host. The shower houses are unkempt, no tp in the bathrooms. It’s a real mess! Too bad, such a nice area with outstanding hiking trails, beautiful Lake Chatuge, and abundant forests.

For Jackrabbit Mountain Recreation Area: It could be a beautiful campground. Sadly the staff ruin it. I was moved three times and told I would have to pay twice because I made the mistake of booking online. If you book online, you can’t move. So when I got there and discovered my site in full sun, I asked to move to one ten open shady spots. No deal. I would pay again. I could stay in the reserved site with my dog as temperatures were soaring so I left. Thank you Forest Service for helping your customers! Friday night I’m driving looking for somewhere else
