For Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area: Nice campground with large sites. Whoever laid out the sites originally must have been drinking. To get backed in to some sites, it’s at the wrong angle. Some sites have the hookup features on the wrong side. The staff was helpful allowing us to set up and disconnect prior to coming to the office.if you don’t, there is plenty of room to turn around at the office.

For Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area: This is a nice area and a great campground , it could use some updates , such as water ,sewer and 30,50amp sites, the dump station also could use some work. The campground and personal are awesome! There is great sites with plenty of room and some amenities right on site, such as a small restaurant open Thursday-Sunday evenings for fried seafood dinners. Reasonably priced for the portions , worth checking out after a day at the beach and your not wanting to cook. The camp store could use more food items that you might forget, but they carry some items you can rent and use during your stay you might have forgotten . Overall it’s a great place to visit! Thanks to the team there for such a wonderful vacation for my family and myself , we were there for three weeks and took it all in.

For Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area: Dirty bathrooms. There was poop on the floor of the Womens restroom (the one with 2 showers) for at least 3 days even though staff knew about it. The barking dogs in the kennel behind the office and slamming doors in the parking lot (park is open to public) kept me awake. water hook up was on other side of bathroom a about 60 ft away at one lot so we moved to the loud site. The proximity to water was great though. And the price was cheap. Wifi was good the first two nights.

For Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area: Beautiful FAMCAMP with clean and serviceable sites. Walking distance to public access beach. Best famcamp we have been to.

For Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area: We are full timers who move constantly. We spent one week at Ft Fisher. It was a very nice campground. Besides having a lot of cabins to rent, and a well laid out camping area, they also have more haphazard camping around the property. Weird but it works for them. The campground is directly across the street from the ocean and had the river on the other side. Hookups worked just fine. It’s a cute beach community and Ft Fisher provides an are to explore. The NC Aquarium is also down the road. Staff were very pleasant and you can’t beat the price. Wish they had WiFi.

For Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area: Great space, some utilities are on opposite sides, so we decided to pull in to get them where we needed. You can’t beat it across the street from beach. Some pads are new.

For Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area: First off, if I could give no stars or negative stars I would.....STAY AWAY from this supposed military facility. I should have heeded previous reviews and never attempted to stay here. Backstory; we are full-timers and I needed surgery on my wrist. Surgery scheduled for 6/3 and stayed at KOA (fabulous) near surgicenter 2 nights day before/after surgery. When I made reservation here was only able to get a few days but was told we may be able to accommodate you, wait for a phone call. About a week later I was called with good news, you can stay during recovery period in one spot, water/electric only (no problem for us). Two days before surgery I received a phone call that we would have to move twice!! 3 sites in 6 days, unacceptable! I told them to hold reservation but I probably would make other plans, which I did (thank you again Wilmington KOA for being accommodating) left a message to cancel & asked to have a supervisor call back. The MOST rude woman called back, called me a liar and laughed at me when I asked if she had seen previous reviews of their facility and that we would be contacting chain of command about their lack of competency & rude behavior. They had no professionalism, customer service or compassion. We have been full-timing 12 years and this, by far, THE worst experience ever....stay away!!!!!
