For Camp Hatteras: Overall it is a nice campground. Pros: level paved pads, good outdoor activities w mini golf, pickleball, tennis and basketball, clean bathrooms w showers that work well, and good central location. Cell signal was excellent. The sound front sites are very nice w great sunset views. Cons: huge campground with tight sites. Ocean side is jammed w sites and noisy, and also floods w rain. Sand spurs are in all grassy areas which is a problem if you have a dog. The beach area is very downward sloping. The wind here is exceptionally strong and will limit your time outdoors. They do not have enough staff for such an large campground. Long drives to all points of interest.

For Camp Hatteras: We stayed here last July for a week using Coast To Coast. Cost was $10 per nite using C2C. This is absolutely the cleanest and best campground I have ever visited except for extremely high dollar luxury motorcoach resorts costing $$$$$!! Staff is super helpful and nice. Plenty of activities to keep anyone busy. Loved the impromptu sunset parties each nite to watch the sun sing into the Sound. Lots of wonderful places to visit on the island and the house from the movie Nights In Rodanthe is only less than a mile away! Bath houses were spotless and good A/C. WiFi was as good as you can ask for. CG stretches from ocean to the sound so all sites are situated with great access to water.

For Camp Hatteras: Loved Camp Hatteras! Just returned from a week's stay. Campground was clean and spots were nice sized. Bathhouses were very clean. Staff was very friendly. We had a problem with the toilet in our class A and they gave us the number of a mobile repairman and he was there within the hour and got us fixed up in no time. Will visit again for sure!

For Camp Hatteras: Rv park ez beach access. If your main concern is surf fishing this is place for you. If you are looking for beach to swim or walk along shore forget it. There are so many fishing lines if want to walk or run you need to be at least 30 feet from the water to avoid fishing lines. There are no fishing restrictions concerning time and area. Rv sites are way too close together. Also poorly laid out you need at least 25 feet of sewer hose. Also sewer hookup from adjoining site is way too close to picnic table/ patio slab area. They charge $3 per dog per night. (I guess to subsidize their new dog park) also extra for cable. Wireless typical of rv parks. Bath house dated but clean. Also outside shower near bath house for cleaning off sand. You are paying for proximity to beach not campsite amenities. If you plan on spending majority of time on beach and your main concern is surf fishing you won't be disappointed.

For Camp Hatteras: They only honor coast to coast for one night only and if you what to stay for extra days it fall price. I could see if it was fall but they had over a hundred sit empty
