For Lakeside - Eugene T Mahoney State Park: Full hookups added this spring to the site we got. Would’ve been great except the sewer hookup was plumbed uphill from the camper pad. Sewer doesn't run uphill. Neighbors pad had similar issues. No camper reduced rate for park activities. Treetop ropes course was awesome. Pool was overcrowded with local people. The day use areas seem to get abused. I wish the rules/regulations were enforced since it appears that you pay for it.

For Lakeside - Eugene T Mahoney State Park: It’s pretty, it’s clean, and it’s overpriced. One thing they don’t tell you is that you need to pay a per day fee for licensed vehicles. Camping equipment is NOT exempted. With a motorhome and a car for running around, that’s another $24/night on top of the per night fees. The sites are nice and pretty. We arrived after a rain, so there was a fair amount of mud (only the pad for the RV is paved, there’s not even gravel for the picnic table). Trash cans are plentiful and there’s a lot of places to go for a stroll with the dog. Everything appears to be well cared for. If you want to use the pool/water park, there’s no camper discount. There’s other activities, still at an extra cost. It’s nice, but it’s not nice enough to justify all the added fees.

For Lakeside - Eugene T Mahoney State Park: If you speak to the staff at other Nebraska State Parks, they'll tell you that Mahoney is the "Cadillac" of the Nebraska State Parks. This campground is one of two in Mahoney. Sites are well-made, with nice trees between. The Lodge even has free wi-fi, as well as offering meals and other stuff. It's very handy to I-80, Omaha and Lincoln.

For Lakeside - Eugene T Mahoney State Park: We were pleasantly surprised that it did have a few full hook-up sites that were not mentioned in the details of the campground and also has a dump station. The Lodge has a buffet restaurant, the serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had a nice level site. Lots of shade trees and were close to the lake. There were paddle boats you could rent and lots of things to do here! What a beautiful state park!

For Lakeside - Eugene T Mahoney State Park: Good state park with lots of local day use due to its added attractions - horse riding, fishing, paddle boats, and water park. Campground is shady and spacious. We had a lakeside site that made it even bigger. Level pads, fire rings, and harsh needle-like showers. The only downside is that it can feel a little over-run on weekends/holidays. We came back at night to see 4 tents next to us where the regulations stated only 1 extra tent allowed. I would camp here again.
