For Mormon Island State Recreation Area: Nice state recreation area with easy access to interstate. Clean, paved sites. The comfort station was still closed during our stay in late March. Road noise was constant but negligible, almost like “white noise” background. There is $8 day use charge for non-residents in addition to the nightly fee. Camping fees are discounted $5/night in off season.

For Mormon Island State Recreation Area: Our very first night in our first RV headed west. Very convenient location, we were tucked away under the pines and had a lake view. Bathrooms and free showers were just a short walk away. Grounds were very well maintained, women’s bathroom was very clean, men’s could use a little detail! Trees were turning, so got to see beautiful golds and reds. A short drive to town and restaurants/shopping. Would definitely stay again. Arrived very late and was easy self check-in.

For Mormon Island State Recreation Area: Beautiful park with a nice lake. Very handy to I-80 but the traffic noise is negligible. Sites are spacious with plenty of trees. Most sites are electric-only, and it has a dump and water fill station. Many sites are able to be reserved. During the summer, weekends are packed out with local people. Weekdays there is plenty of room. Close to Grand island, a large(ish) town for supplies.

ASG

For Mormon Island State Recreation Area: Very clean and beautiful park. About $28/night for non-residents for 50amp electrical only. Dump station and water fill-up available on-site. Three lakes in the park, nice paved walking trails, and lined with trees. Only negative is the truck traffic noise from the very nearby I80. We were in a 35' fifth wheel. We would camp there again.

GoSolar

For Mormon Island State Recreation Area: Electric only sites.
Easy parking.
Nice places to walk.
Close to I-80 but the AC drowns out any road noise.
Lots of cotton wood flying around.
50 amp sites on front road have good electric. A friend was having trouble on a 30 amp site.
2015 rate. $20 plus $5 for towed car.
