For Johnson Lake State Recreation Area: Gas station just outside the park entrance. This is extremely helpful. It allowed me to fill up for the next day travel and not unhook since the sites are level. Water fill and dump also just outside the entrance, very convenient . $25 for 30 amp back in, plus Nebraska park fee. I had an annual pass. Very quiet, beautiful lake, enormous cottonwood trees provide full shade. 30’ travel trailer, 1 slide.

Joe

For Johnson Lake State Recreation Area: Scenic if nothing else. The old cottenwood groves are pretty. What isnt is the bathrooms. Modern State park bathrooms with the private showers but given the ocean of dead bug drowned in leaking soap from the dispenser these floor havnt been cleaned in a long time. Cobbwebs, stains, fishy smell etc. Gross bathrooms. Also they do that thing where they offer a price for the night and then the permit for your car costs that again. I-80 is lined with parks and rv places. Make another choice unless you are here for the lake. The Walmart in nearby Lexington has a special lot for truckers and RVs to spend the night at no cost with electronic charging stations.

For Johnson Lake State Recreation Area: Great one night stop. Close to I-80. No water hook-up. Camp host was really nice. Lots of space between sites. Cellular service was ok. Looks like a big fishing spot. Nice lake. If you time it right like we did, every other site had a lilac bush. Beautiful.

For Johnson Lake State Recreation Area: Got on the west side of park by accident. No water at sites except great views of lake. Nice shaded lots of good size. First good sleep in a month with no road noise. The owls did wake us briefly about 4am. Shower house ok and water spigot to fill holding tanks Definitely would come back

Sina

For Johnson Lake State Recreation Area: Beautiful campground. Extremely helpful ranger. Sites were shaded well with mature trees. Sites were long and designed to alternate so that even when full, it seemed you had a yard. Well kept grounds.
