For Bridgeport State Recreation Area: I stopped here late at night because I was too tired & had to stop. I didn't see much of anything as I pulled in, (nothing is lighted in the park) but in the morning I could see that it is a lovely little park with very basic amenities. There are no signposts or marking letting you know where to park, just pull in to an empty side spot off the road that circles the lake. There are outhouses & a couple restrooms along the circle. Near the right entrance/exit is a dump station & water spigot. There is a covered shelter, a cabin, a play ground & several picnic tables in one area.
Because there are no lights in the park & the town is a bit away, you can see an amazing star show. That was a bonus for me. Be aware - the railway that runs next to the park had a lot of train traffic all hours. If you are a light sleeper, get earplugs.
Cost is minimal & it is self serve pay envelope at the gate. There are no assigned spots.

For Bridgeport State Recreation Area: It was hard to find and the layout is odd once there. Then when you get a site, it is lots of noisy boats too. Would not go back.
