For Bear Brook State Park: 7/20/23 This was our second and last time we will stay at this State Park. Our first stay was ok but not our second. The camp store sells “cap guns”. As I was walking to the showers, there were 5 kids on bikes who thought it would be cool to ride up right behind me an blast away. Ok, it scared me but kids were having fun. The access to the showers is in a semi open hallway. While undressing, I heard kids outside the door giggling, then all hell broke loose. Imagine someone lighting a brick of firecrackers inside a building. The kids really scared the crap out of me that time. This was at 7:30 pm. After showering at I went to the camp store, asked for the campground managers phone number. I called, identified myself and left a rather nasty message. I did confront the kids, the oldest of which was 15. I did explain to him and his mom why what they did wasn’t cool and tgat he was old enough to know better. At about 9: 15 pm well after dark, a ranger knocked on our door. And explained she received a call from the manager and she spoken to the kids as I did. She informed us, that If they continue to make noise after 10pm (quiet hours) she’d deal with it, until then there was nothing she could do. Not only are the cap guns loud and disturbing but the ground was littered with the spent star shaped plastic holders. I question the parks wisdom to sell such items in the camp store.

For Bear Brook State Park: This is a beautiful remote campground not trailer friendly( we have a Grand Design Imagine 22mle. We went to the park to use the dump station $25. We asked were we could turn around and was sent down a road told it had a turn around. The turn was so sharp with large trees preventing us to turn. One hour later with very nice campers who were willing to move their cars. We were able to get out. Awful.

For Bear Brook State Park: Ditto about deep in the woods...scenic, quiet, short walk to pond for fishing, swimming and or kayaking. Very beautiful campground. Showers coin operated, private stall. Only complaint is men’s restroom near site 49/50 was gross. Women’s was fine and showers too. But men’s needs a deep clean.

For Bear Brook State Park: Campground is deep in the park so keep an eye out for campground signs (might have multiple entrances) We came in off of 28 and had no problems finding it in daylight. Really great choice of sights - boulders, tall pines, waterview-ish. There's even a walk-in, non-reservable lakeside site. Showers are cheap(25c) considering the volume of water is strong. No problem showering in 3 min. Beach and kayak rentals in campground. Great little park especially early evening.

For Bear Brook State Park: We were in town for NASCAR race so picked here. $25 no hook-ups, 25 cent for a couple of minutes for shower , takes 25 cents to get water warm enough to get in. Signs to Campground are hard to see, especially coming in at night, and somewhat confusing. Dump station is dirt/mud area with no fresh water fill there. We got fresh water at spigot at left front of store, kinda odd place to try and park and fill up.
