Bob on the Rocks

For Cheeseman Provincial Park: This a very nice and handy Provimcial Park campground. Nice sites, very good location. Good washrooms, showers, and fire pits. Free WIFI close to the administration office. There seems to be zero call coverage in the campground, but just down the road a bit toward the beach there is good coverage. Nice hiking trails and beach (but note this is a bird sanctuary so stay off the dunes). This is a very handy place if you are coming off the ferry within three hours of sunset or if it is windy. North of the site (towards Corner Brook) is a place famous for extremely high winds, Wreckhouse Winds, that regularly blows transport trucks off the highway (there is a sign after leaving the ferry warning of the conditions. There are also many moose in the area that collide with vehicles and dusk is the worst time of day for them. So seriously consider staying here before proceeding to the feast of Newfoundland.
