For Sierra Village RV Park and Lodge: No cell phone service (despite saying they have it), couldn't connect to wifi cell because "they were out of wifi". Originally said I would be able to stream shows and radio sometimes -- no. There was a family emergency and I couldn't be reached. Paid for a month because I assumed wifi was available, and complained ... heard nothing for almost a week ... made arrangements elsewhere and asked for some refund. No ... I am a "dissatisfied person who would be happy nowhere" and the problem was my phone, not their wifi. They were working on it. Out almost a month's fees. They hire transients (who live on property) for grounds, and I felt none too safe. It is beautiful if you don't look at the long-abandoned machinery and rotting tables. I think it would be ok overnight with no need or interest in technology and good locks on your rig -- it is spectacularly beautiful. But much of what they promise is not there anymore -- part of a bygone era.

For Sierra Village RV Park and Lodge: Very nice park tucked near a stream. Bathroom was chilly, but there was plenty of hot water for the shower.

The setting is very picturesque. The owner was pleasant. Just the kind of place we like to stay for an overnight.

If we're in Taos again, we'd definitely stay here again.

For Sierra Village RV Park and Lodge: This place is the pits. How can anyone give it four stars. Very rustic and unkempt. The spaces are so close that when we opened our slide out we were looking directly over our neighbors picnic table The other side was a small tent sight fortunately unoccupied. Would pass this one right on by

For Sierra Village RV Park and Lodge: This is a charming park and the surroundings are lovely. Every spot is unique and most offer privacy due to trees and shrubs. There's a spot for everybody -- from big rigs to tents. Many spots offer a lovely spring in the back. There are pathways and areas for the kids to explore and we always felt safe. We heard laughter all thru the campground and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Great location and not far from Angel Fire. Downside: No cell service. Laundry facilities are poor. This park appears to have been well thought out with games, meeting areas around a camp fire and large grills (even an old stage), but everything needs a general clearing of old equipment. Nonetheless, we will definitely return.

Eliza Little

For Sierra Village RV Park and Lodge: I have been coming to the park throughout the past five summers. It is a little gem. But rough around the edges. It is older and shows. I have been full time rving off and on for about 30 years. This is not a modern park but very comfortable and quiet. I never heard of anyone having trouble with the electric but , like many parks, the WiFi usage is restricted. You are in a canyon and if using a cell phone check to see if your carrier allows you to make calls via wifi. Most do now. Being older the spaces are wide but perhaps not for the mega rigs since there are plenty of shade trees that could cause issues if rig is too tall.If the stream is running the smaller sites on that side make for pleasent sleeping. And sites for tents abound. The individual bathrooms give privacy but definitely not fancy. Older and a bit run down. But everything important works. Not out in the open with the hot sun and stacked on top of one another as are the majority of the other parks in town. And only a short distance from town. Lots of wildlife and trails to hike. Very dog friendly. So pros and cons. Me, I like the quiet, friendlier atmosphere and coolness so I could care less about fancy trappings. This is true rving not locking oneself up in a half million dollar rig with your tv and computer and never coming out.

For Sierra Village RV Park and Lodge: I am sorry to say I cannot recommend this park. We stayed here one nite a month ago in our trailer. We had planned to stay longer BUT the electric was nonexistent (we paid for full hookup) and the electric service played havoc with our refrigerator. We ultimately disconnected the 30 amp service and had no problem thereafter. Wifi was terrible, bathroom very very old. The surrounding trees and forest were nice and the owner very personable. Unfortunately, when we plug in we don't expect to have electric problems - especially with the refrig - this was a first! The campground is very close to Taos and that was convenient.

Bill

For Sierra Village RV Park and Lodge: We went tent camping for 6 days with 4 kids under the age of 9. We had a great time, the owner knew the area well and was very attentive, stopping by all the sites several times a day to say hello and ask if we had any needs. With 4 young kids, the indoor flushing toilets and HOT showers were just great. The RV campers did not seem to be packed in, there was lots of space and a feeling of community among the people. We live a couple hours away and will take advantage of this park as often as possible, we were impressed!
