For Hickison Petroglyph Rec Area: Nice place to stop for the night. We have a 35 ft Class A. There were several spots we could fit. Road in is graded gravel, a bit bumpy but only a short drive off the road. Nice, short hike with beautiful views of the valleys. Vault toilets. No water.

For Hickison Petroglyph Rec Area: This is a great spot for a break from the long lonely Rt 50 through Nevada! The road in was a bit bumpy but no issues. It has a one way loop to find your spot. I knocked off 1 star because trees are a bit in the way in quite a few areas. Trails are nicely marked off with rocks. Beautiful rock formations all around. Glad we stayed here! We have a 35’ fifth wheel & F350.

For Hickison Petroglyph Rec Area: Great BLM site especially for free. Nice views. True, some of the petroglyphs have been defaced but we found some that could have been from the early 1900’s. If you want to acces the pull through sites go right on the loop. Most of the back in’s are accessed best if you go left around the loop.

For Hickison Petroglyph Rec Area: Quiet, off the road, good stopover spot. Maybe half the sites are level, others will require some leveling. If you come here to see the petroglyphs you will be disappointed. What you will see tells more about our current culture than the previous Native Americans. Most of the rock carvings have been defaced and vandalized. Very discouraging to see. But there are some good hikes nearby

For Hickison Petroglyph Rec Area: Great BLM site. We got a pull through site that was level enough the we didn’t bather with leveling blocks. There are several pull through sites and the rest are back in. The road in is fought but easily passable. Vault toilets had lots of flys buzzing around so we just kept to our RV. Definitely recommend.

For Hickison Petroglyph Rec Area: Pulled 27ft Airstream through to our campsite. We stayed here 2 nights 9-10 June 2017. I loved it. My wife didn't care for it due to a bit of blowing dust from time to time.
I would certainly stop here again if we pass this way in the future.

Bill

For Hickison Petroglyph Rec Area: Campground is about a 1/4 mile off of Hwy 50 on a well maintained washboard road. Entering the camping area is a large roundabout with maps and other information in a box. The campsites are directly to the right and the road runs in a large loop. The listed size of my 5th wheel is 36.5 ft but is really closer to 40 ft. I had no problem pulling in or out. There was only one other camper when we arrived in the early evening. None of the sites where level but I carry two 2x6 boards which were good enough to just about level side to side. I didn't unhook since I was only staying one night. Each site has a barbecue pit, a concrete and wooden picnic table (level) and a 3/4 clam shell covering over the table. Numerous trash cans throughout the area and they were empty and concrete pit toilets which we didn't use. Very nice and quiet location plus short hiking trails to the petroglyphs. This was our first time here but plan on returning. The price is right (free) and the views are great. Only caution is if there is snow or water on the road it might be a little difficult to negotiate.
