Firewied

For Grand Sierra Resort Casino and RV Park: This place is a dump! The first spot they put us in was covered in sewage waste, the last tenant used the fresh water well to dump their black tank. They moved us to another spot and about 7pm the surge protector shut down. The surge protector was showing an over voltage of 136. I called the operator at the casino because the rv office was closed. The operator said she would notify engineering. I should have known that notifying was not the same as sending them out. We ended up running the generator. Do not bother with this dump. Run away. I would have given it a zero if that was an option.

Old Cowboy

For Grand Sierra Resort Casino and RV Park: Expensive for a parking lot. Full hookup drive through. We stayed one night headed South. We won’t be staying there again.

Tuns

For Grand Sierra Resort Casino and RV Park: Would have given this parking lot a 0 rating. I usually give a pros and con review, but I couldn’t give it any pro ratings. We made an online reservation mid August 2022 while driving from California. We checked in when we got there they sent us to site 238 which is about 5 city blocks from the casino. The cost was $95 for a pull through. However, with the resort fees and taxes, it came to $131. Temperature was in the high 90s without a tree or any shade in sight. I took our young dog to one of two dog runs….not a blade of grass in sight. The black top was scorching and he burned his paws. When I got to our motor home, the WiFi did not connect. I went to the office and they said it was too bad we were so far from the casino and very close to the airport, so we were out of luck. After driving hours, we wanted to relax and watch some Roku. So we pulled up stakes and left after demanding a refund. We drove south to Carson City and booked a spot at Gold Dust West for only $50 with free wifi, trees, grass, a good restaurant and casino. Do not book a space at Grand Sierra in Reno. What a hell hole!

RVoayage

For Grand Sierra Resort Casino and RV Park: This casino is the old MGM hotel which then became Bally’s and then the Reno Hilton and is now the Grand Sierra. It’s always been second rate, and not very nice in my opinion. Not many choices in Reno, unfortunately.

Buster

For Grand Sierra Resort Casino and RV Park: I arrived after the office closed and had to hunt down the Hotel front desk to check in. No direction how to get there from the RV park side. They gave me a pass card twice because the first two didn't work. And it is a long distance to walk. Then I found the restroom by our site was closed and had to use the restroom and showers on the far side of the park. The site was OK but a lot a Goat head stickers in my site. When I check in I was told the reservation fee would be refunded but that never happened. I believe I was charged $100.00 for my one night stay. I was expecting a better place for the money. A positive about the park the site was a pull through. The park is big and with a little more maintenance and a upfront pricing it could be a good place to stay.

Tyson

For Grand Sierra Resort Casino and RV Park: The site is nothing special but has power, sewer and water. We stayed in the gravel area and it was pretty empty. Homeless camp behind the casino on the walking trail but that’s not the casinos fault. The staff was very helpful and polite. This is a good place to park overnight. It’s close to the airport. The casino is a typical Reno establishment but I found the staff to be pretty friendly. Don’t expect beauty, good over nighter. I was in a small camper van.

John

For Grand Sierra Resort Casino and RV Park: This place is a dive. Considering how nice the hotel appears from the highway, I expected the RV Park would be a reasonably kept facility. Instead this is my idea of a third-world RV park. A concrete slab in a giant parking lot devoid of any sign that a least a few pennies out of every dollar the casino makes goes into this RV area. Dog crap everywhere. No internet, although they say they have it. The road into the place has one sign but at the critical junction no indication to turn right or go straight. FYI, if you go straight you end up in the employee parking lot. Tried to dump black tank, sewer backed up violently ejecting my hose and many gallons of black tank contents all over utility hook up area and mostly under the RV. Had to try and get a hold of someone in the hotel by phone because office is closed in the middle of the day. Engineering came out and snaked the line and the RV Park Manager came over a and said kids probably put soda or beer cans in hole to be funny. Haha. Entire area had to be washed and sprayed with bleach. No place for swill to drain so Brown trout just floated down the gutter a ways and left to rot in the cold sun. The next day the main water line burst underground and proceeded to form a mini Lake Tahoe under my rig. Two positives: Josh the RV Park Manager knows he was dealt a losing hand after he took the job and tries his best. He comped me one night MINUS the resort fee. You'll never get out of paying saying that. Also the guys from Engineering were great and if it had not been for them I would probably have malaria. Stay away.
