For Royal Mountain Campsites: Served our needs. Pit stop overnight. Ice cream shop was nice and busy. Lotsa seasonal trailers quiet on our night. Smells of all the pine trees. Nice. Would use again for our needs. Not a “resort”

For Royal Mountain Campsites: We stayed here due to a massive engine failure in our truck causing a major upset in our vacation plans. Granny and Tom were amazing hosts. We stayed about a week and have to agree with the other reviews, not much for cell or Internet signal. We were able to sneak text messages in and out here and there. We were traveling with our two small kids and 10 week old puppy. Each night we would walk to Granny's ice cream stand which appears to be the hot spot in town. There was no shortage of patrons lined up for ice cream. Granny's offered an extra small cup for the little ones. Probably the perfect amount for them to enjoy and not waste. Another added benifit was it was free as my oldest is only 3, and smaller than the sign of Granny posted. Our other neighbors were extremely friendly and very hospitable. They really made us feel welcome and apart of their community. I would absolutely stay here again (under better circumstances next time) and would recommend it to others. We also visited the diamond mine down the road, it was fun but a little tough with the smaller kids.
