For St Johnsville Campsite and Marina: Nice campground, small quiet. Train does go by very close often. We didn’t mind. Great clean bathhouse, plentiful hot water. Friendly helpful staff. Grass and trees for shade. Good laundry. They can take cash, check or credit card.

For St Johnsville Campsite and Marina: 28 sites at a riverside marina. Nicely shaded with FHU. Appears most waterfront sites were designed for Class A Motorhomes to pull in and face the river. Utilities at those sites are on left side of the site. (Tow-able trailers allowed to pull in and back out.) Other sites are back-in or pull through. Quiet despite not being far from interstate 90. Occasionally, freight trains came through nearby but I did not find the trains disturbing. (light sleepers might want to use earplugs).Review on another website mentioned nearby water treatment plant. No smells or activity noted during this visit.Clean, spacious bathhouse facilities. The process for check in and payment was very 'low tech'. Apparently the municipality is trying to keep things simple with phone reservation/1st come 1st serve and credit card payment upon arrival. No cash accepted. NOTE: water pressure very high, bringing your own adjustable gauge would be best.

For St Johnsville Campsite and Marina: They have become very expensive for a No ameneties on site facility other than showers/bathrooms!! They want to $$$$$$$ a night. Sorry but, way to much for our blood! We did not stay but, went through and talked to a seasonal camper (very few of Them there compared to our last stay) The ladies that ran this place prior are no longer there and you can for sure see a huge down hill difference. Very sad because, this place was a gem.

For St Johnsville Campsite and Marina: Great Village owned campground. We stayed a week. Lots and lots of history around the area. Trains can be loud but, rarely blow their horns because no crossing. Some do it for kids watching. No bad smell from the waste treatment plant or dump station. Very, very well kept place. Bathrooms/showers/laundry rooms are immaculate!! Drive through campsites need some tree trimming but, there was a ton of room to back out if needed. Dog friendly. Hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, boating, fishing or just exploring it’s a beautiful area to see!! Very nice people running it (Cathy and Grace I believe). Loved our stay! Some day We will be back.

For St Johnsville Campsite and Marina: Clean and quiet park along the Erie Canal and relatively close to I-90. The noise from the trains can be easily canceled out by air conditioning or a fan. Spaces available during the busy summer season when many other campgrounds were full. We like to find the little city parks when traveling cross country and this one was perfect for our needs.

For St Johnsville Campsite and Marina: A nice little city park campground right on the Erie Canal. An abandoned lock 33 is across the canal, and the canal bike path is just across the road as well. St. Johnsville has definitely seen better days but it is a nice place to stay for a night or two and see the surrounding areas and bike the canal pathways. I found the campground quiet and while this is not a fancy private RV park, it is quite adequate with full hookups. Yes, there is a train track with lots of trains right at the edge of the campground, but they go by very fast, and with our fan on all night we slept right through them. As to the sewer plant the other reviewer mentioned, I had to look for it. Found it, but never knew or smelled that it was there. If you are going to be using a toilet you better deal with the fact that towns have to actually process what you pooped out! Sounds like the last reviewer had a bad personal interaction and I respect that s/he left very unhappy, but this is a nice little quiet place to stay. I much prefer these small city parks to those large RV parks with gigantic rigs 5' from you on all sides.

RAY

For St Johnsville Campsite and Marina: STINKS
LOCATED NEXT TO A SEWER PLANT AND NOISY RR TRACK. MAYOR IS ONLY INTERESTED IN YOUR MONEY AND NOT IF YOUR COMFORTABLE THERE. STAY AWAY AND GO SOMEWHERE YOU ARE APPRECIATED. IF YOUR DISRESPECTFUL AND YOU DRINK YOU'LL FIT RIGHT IN.
