For Taughannock Falls State Park: May 2025: The bug attraction here is the day use area at the lake. The campground is functional, especially for car/tent camping. The sites are mostly small with short sloped gravel entries and a somewhat level tent spot. If you have a total vehicle plus trailer length of more than about 20-25 feet you may have issues. The first several sites along the entrance road are all at 90 degrees to the narrow road and the short sites cause people to park their vehicles along the road shoulders. I watched a lot of vehicles getting juggled around whenever someone tried to get their trailer in or out of those sites. The power pedestals are shared so every other site has their power source on the wrong side. None of the above was a problem for me with my 21-foot Class B van, but the people with trailers had some problems. The dump station is a single lane with a well designed waste inlet, rinse water and potable freshwater. The restrooms are dated but mostly functional. The campground is mostly forested so other than the first several sites near the entrance the sites further in are mostly private. Good trail nearby to the falls, which can be reached directly from the campground. Overall an ok place to stay mainly for lake access, the campground is nothing special but it’s better than many.

For Taughannock Falls State Park: Campground is located off the Falls Overlook road . Registration is at main entrance near the lake. Sites are level and of a reasonable size. Bathhouse has recently been updated with tile. Location of bathhouse windows prevents installation of a privacy curtain for the shower changing area.
