For Nimisila Reservoir Metro Park formerly Portage Lakes SP: $30 a night with no electric or water. 5 sites offer electric. 2 handicap sites. Seems well kept. Paved and somewhat level pad. Mosquitoes in mid July were intense. I would give it a better rating if not for the price.

For Nimisila Reservoir Metro Park formerly Portage Lakes SP: A nice campground. Good sized, cleared lots with paved back-in sites. Site #20 is close to level. They have grey and black water dump sites. When they say no potable water, they mean it. Plan ahead fill up water ahead of time. The Camping World and most of the gas stations around do NOT offer any water. We drive around for an hour trying to find somewhere to fill up our water tank. Finally found a BP 20 minutes away that let us use their hose to fill up. 4625 Portage St NW, North Canton, OH 44720

For Nimisila Reservoir Metro Park formerly Portage Lakes SP: Since it became a metro park, the change is amazing. Growth has been cutback and many sites eliminated to make it more managable. Only 5 sites with electricity, no drinking water, free dump station ($10 for non-registered campers), a small campground (ages 5-12), several CLEAN pit toilets, a boat launch (registered campers only), and very good shore fishing, no swimming. I know it doesn't sound that great, but for being basically in a city, it is a wonderful place to take the family for a few days. NO GENERATORS!!! so it is a nice and quiet campground. Gray water dump near campsites, Ranger on duty weekends. Rates around $30 with discounts for ages 60+. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED

For Nimisila Reservoir Metro Park formerly Portage Lakes SP: This is a great little campground if you’re looking for a more primitive type camp site. They do have electric hookups, and they have a dump station on site. No shower houses, but they have bathrooms (basically individual porta-pots in enclosed structure. No mirror or sink). Beautiful campground, clean, quiet. RV lots that back up to the lake. Nice little playground and basketball court. We really enjoyed our weekend.

J

For Nimisila Reservoir Metro Park formerly Portage Lakes SP: One of the worst camp grounds I have been in my life. State park does not signs to tell people which way to go. Night check in is a bunch of paper on a wall. No direction to the camp sites. Lots of dead end road that a RV can not turn around in. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE. THE THRUWAY RV CAMPING IS BETTER AND SAFER
