For Maumee Bay State Park: Maumee Bay is the Gold Standard of campgrounds. Very clean facilities, family shower rooms, laundry and volunteers and maintenance crews here keep everything in top order. Lawns and flower beds are immaculately kept. You can do some kayaking on Lake Erie or go down the road just a short drive to the marshes. Book early - especially in the spring - this is a Mecca for birders. You can stroll on the boardwalk or take advantage of one of the many other amenities; Golf course, tennis courts, basketball court right in the camp ground. Swimming in the lake is problematic with water quality - I wish they offered something better for the pool at the lodge. It was a little pricey last I checked, but for us this is still a ten.

For Maumee Bay State Park: I’ll add another 5 star review. The layout of this campground is outstanding. So much space and convenience combined. A couple nasty dogs, but that happens anywhere. Keep your dogs under control! We do! The boardwalk is really a nice walk but no pets. That’s understandable. No water at the sites, but they have stations conveniently placed. Dump station is one of the best I’ve seen.

For Maumee Bay State Park: Just stay here. They have everything. We stayed in site #17. Will certainly stay here again.

For Maumee Bay State Park: Maumee SP is a shining example of a well thought out, beautifully run State Park. The campsite spurs are well-spaced with Camp Hosts in each spur. On weekends Bingo, Ice Cream Socials (root beer floats) and Coffee&Donuts are offered by the friendly Camp Hosts- and were well attended. Loved the bike trails and hiking trails. Spotlessly clean laundry room with 2 large washers ($1.50/40 min load) and 2 dryers ($1/1 hour load). Good Verizon & AT&T service.

For Maumee Bay State Park: The people saying this is the nicest state park ever weren't kidding. A blueprint for modern State Park campsites if ever there was one. I'm concerned the ultra-modern shower valves with numeric temperature controls will gain sentience and try to take over the world. 4 strong bars of internet with Verizon. The park abuts the Husky Oil Refinery and the Walleye Coal power plant so the air carries a metallic odor at times.

For Maumee Bay State Park: We really enjoyed our spring weekend at Maumee Bay and got to explore most of the park by bike this trip. (Great wide, level and mostly paved bike trails) We were a couple weeks too early to see the warbler migration, but we think we broke the record for how many turtles we saw basking in the sun on logs along the boardwalk hike. There’s a good amount of space and privacy between the campsites. Please also see me prior review from October 2021 for more details. We love Maumee Bay State Park.

For Maumee Bay State Park: We stayed for the first time at Maumee Bay for 2 nights in October and loved it. Big, level sites with trees and bushes in between for good privacy and lots of trails to walk and bike around the lakes and to the beach. Our favorite was the boardwalk trail next to the nature center. Plus, there are lots of other bird and wildlife preserves within 20 minutes of the park so it’s a great base camp to explore the area. I also appreciated that they already have sewer hoses hooked up and ready at the dump station to make the process faster when leaving.
