For Marval Family Camping Resort: This is a wonderful, family friendly campground. There are lots of cabins to rent (more than 50) and more than twice as many RV sites. The sites are concrete pads and level. Full hook ups or just electric and water available. There are two swimming pools, basketball court, volleyball court, disc golf course, a playground and golf carts for rent to use in the park. It is spacious and landscaped beautifully. The store has the basic needs covered and the campground manager is very helpful and friendly. There are activities scheduled in season (outdoor movies, themed weekends). We stayed here after the serious flooding of the Arkansas River which caused flooding along the Lower Illinois River and damaged some of the cabins. The campground manager and staff were working hard to accommodate the everyone whose reservation was impacted by the flooding and went out of their way to help everyone. This is a large campground but it feels cozy. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat! Loved it. (Traveling in a 32 foot class A, towing a Jeep - no problems navigating the park).

Judy

For Marval Family Camping Resort: Thank you to staff member Craig for making our time here so memorable. Absolutely loved our full hook up site on the Illinois River where hubby could fish all day a stones throw from the RV. Like all family resorts it’s quite peaceful once the kids are back in school. AC’d bath and laundry facilities are wonderful after our Texas stop at a comparable RV Resort where the facilities were oppressively hot. Without a tow car or rental golf cart the dumpster is a far piece. Would be willing to pay extra for trash pick up. Give Gambinos, a local place, a shout for delivery to your RV site. Food was great. We stayed in a 24ft Motor home at site #315.

Workingdog

For Marval Family Camping Resort: The management staff was less than responsive initially stating they could not accommodate or stay request then back tracked to meet our needs. The place is expensive for what you get and they offer no weekly rates. There are far more long term stay folks so the place is quite until the weekend. Was told that the annual rate is $3K plus electricity which would be close to being comparable to long term storage with electricity. Only the outer roads are paved and a large number of sites being on gravel. Travel in and out or one way and these roads are narrow and many guests disregard the direction of travel creating traffic issues. The only motorized vehicles allowed within the park are rental golf carts and personal golf carts are precluded. Parking at the swimming pool is golf cart only and along with only one trash dumpster is not a short walk away. The park rules state only two vehicles per site which includes the trailer/Motorhome and not to be parked on the grass; however, on the weekend this was never enforced making motor movement even more difficult. Neighbor noise from radios seems to be acceptable by the long term guests. The bathrooms/showers were clean but limited based on the size of the park. Roads leading into the park are narrow county roads with no shoulder.

STharp

For Marval Family Camping Resort: I would give negative stars if I could. Management is rude, drive by constantly to be sure you aren't doing anything wrong. We feel like prisoners here and can not wait to leave. Expensive - $54/ night. There's a state park not too far from here (Greenleaf) that we will stay at next time and they are very nice and only $25/ night.

This campground states they are pet friendly but they act like they hate dogs, so if you're a dog lover like us - don't stay here.

Internet (Verizon) is non existent.

Nice park, terrible staff. ? ? ? ?

Rain

For Marval Family Camping Resort: Traveling to Los Angeles with a vintage '65 Airstream we stopped at several places just for the night, eat bathe and sleep!
Most RV parks are laid out like parking lots but the Marvel RV Resort is unique. Not only are the fish in the Illinois River on the property just jumping at bait, there is canoeing, inner tubing, arts and crafts, arcade, swimming pool and SHADE!!!
Super cool mgt - special thanks to SUSIE ??
Go visit and STAY for a while. Best place we spent a night. Highly recommend.

FamilyTime

For Marval Family Camping Resort: This place grew on us after waiting out western winds for three days. We arrived on a busy weekend and weren't so happy about the cramped conditions. Much better after everyone left. Either way the place is clean, well maintained and plenty of activities for the family. River is really beautiful when there's a dam release. Internet slow and non-existent when the place was full. Very safe.

Wilkesrovers

For Marval Family Camping Resort: We're on our first cross-country trek, and have already been disappointed twice. But not this time! A great camping area with very friendly, helpful folks. We had an escort to the site who helped us set up. We had a friendly neighbor lend us a socket wrench. Felt very safe and secure, and would definitely come back for a longer stay.
