For Camp Doris Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge: More like dry camping than an RV site. This is a federal campground so, information center, showers, etc. all closed due to Covid. Online booking only at an additional cost of $8.00 per night. No information available online regarding the Buffalo pasture. RV dump site rinse water is turned off.

For Camp Doris Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge: We stayed over MLK weekend in an Electric supplied site. The loop we were in was mostly full, but the remainder of the campground was essentially empty. Our site (#48) was not as even as we would have liked and the leveling system on our Class C was maxed out. Spacing between sites was adequate and there are plenty of easy hiking trails leading from the campground. The restrooms and other group facilities are closed for COVID, but from what we could see around the campground, there is a significant need for some upgrading and renovation. Water is not available at the sites, but spigots are spaced around the campground. The water requires boiling before use. The hike to the top of little Baldy mountain is a nice escape and the kids had a great time. Would return and hope that there is some investment forthcoming on the facilities.

For Camp Doris Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge: My daughter has tent camped here several times and loves it. I visited the area today and found only four rv campers and one tent camper. It was extremely quiet, the only thing I could hear were crows and some artillery practice on Fort Sill which borders the refuge. Current rates are $12 for semi-primitive, $14 for non-electric, $22 to $24 for electric only, no water at sites. I did find water available, but it included a sign suggesting you boil before using. Because it is a wildlife refuge I saw signs of the longhorn cattle and bison that roam the area next to the lake that borders the camp grounds. I believe it is possible they have access into the camping area. I plan on returning in the next couple months with my rv and try to get the site 50. It has a nice view of the lake, a very large area with enough space for a tent for my daughter and granddaughter.
