For Short Mountain Cove: This is a great campground. We had site 22 which was close to the lake shore. We were there on a Wednesday to Saturday. For the most part very quite, sites are well spread out. Friday night had several campers show up but it was still fairly quite. There are two parts to the Short Mountain Cove campground. As you enter the gate there are two options, turn right to the area where we stayed or go straight to the boat ramp/campground. The boat ramp campground, in my opinion, isn’t nearly as nice. This lake has three COE campgrounds, Short Montain Cove being the nicest. The restroom/shower was reasonably clean, we didn’t use the shower. There was a camp host at the entrance, no little buildings like most campgrounds, but we never talked to anyone or had anyone stop by to check and see if we were registered. We were there May 5th-8th 2021. There seemed to be several long term residence at each of the campgrounds other than camp host. The reason for four stars was the Canadian geese, that have taken residence, leave a consistent reminder of their presence. Also, site 24 is difficult to back ito if you have a full size truck and longer travel trailer. I would return.
