For Emigrant Lake Recreation Area: We had reserved a site for our small trailer in the tent section of the campground. When we pulled into the campground the dumpster next to the road was overflowing with garbage. The people camping appeared to be drunk or on drugs. Some didn’t appear to have cars. There were clothes hanging in the women’s restroom. We knew from a previous stay there was a problem with non-campers using the showers. This place didn’t feel safe and we decided to leave.

For Emigrant Lake Recreation Area: We found this park nice for our 27' trailer, with bigger rigs here too. In mid-April the water was down maybe 10'. Most of not all sites are good with views of the water, and crews rowing their many shells early in the morning. Very quiet. Clean restrooms and showers. We recommend it and would return, though I'm sure it is hard to get a place in the summer.

For Emigrant Lake Recreation Area: Bad over the phone conversation with Park personnel last October and this site information stating winter closure mislead me to committing to local commercial RV parks. The RV section is in fact open year round and sits pretty empty this time of year. The tent camping area is the only thing closed. My misfortune hopefully helps someone else out. This is the place to stay in Ashland.

For Emigrant Lake Recreation Area: My favorite campground. I go here a couple times a year with my grown children. Beautiful campground, always nice and clean and so are the bathrooms and showers. Nice large paved spots with fire rings, picnic tables and full hookups. We like to go early and late in the season when we nearly have the place to ourselves. Both pull-through and back in spots. Close to I-5 but far enough to be in the country and nice and quiet. No store, so pick up all your supplies in Ashland before you come out.

For Emigrant Lake Recreation Area: LOVE Emigrant Lake! Nice, large paved sites, each with a metal fire pit and picnic table. Full hookups, including 50 amp service. Easy access, nice, clean bathrooms with showers.

Emigrant Lake is great for kayaks, paddleboards, fishing and wildlife viewing. There is also a "water-slide" park at the lake for the kids, open during the summer months.

$30 a night but if you have an annual Jackson County Parks Pass, there is a $2 discount!

Matt

For Emigrant Lake Recreation Area: Stayed there in April for two weeks and really enjoyed ourselves. Good AT&T coverage and no trees to interfere with satellite dish. Very quiet and a great view of the lake. The water is always muddy which was the only drawback. Watched the Alaskan geese and regular visits by the local Osprey which are much better at fishing than I was! Close to town and shopping while still being remote. Will be back!

Matt

For Emigrant Lake Recreation Area: Easy access from the freeway but far enough away to miss the freeway noise. Nice paved sites with full hookups and 50 amps. No store or services but close to shopping and laundry. Very large spaces and great views of the lake. Three bars on ATT and great satellite reception. No wireless or cable, but it is a county park.. Book early!
