Debbie

For Mazama Campground - Crater Lake National Park: I made reservations months in advance. I chose the park because of it’s location, very close to Crater Lake. The check-in was easy. We were assigned E47, a pull-through. I don’t recall if I was given the opportunity to request a pull-through, but we prefer pull-throughs. Because of the one way loop, we had to park with the back of our trailer facing the picnic table. We were fine with that. The site was spacious and cleared. There was a bear box. It was dirt, so we put our mat down next to the picnic table and set our chairs and propane fire pit on it. The dirt was very fine and dusty. The park was beautiful! There is no cell service. There is a charging station, at which you can get internet. There is a store and a post office, a gift shop and restaurant They sell propane and have free air available. There is a free dump station. They even have 2 gas pumps! No diesel. Of course, there are no hookups. Our site was next to a restroom , so we used it often to delay filling up our black tank. Nice restroom! Many walking paths. Easy drive to Crater Lake. A really peaceful camping experience!! And, a very reasonable fee. We would stay here again.

For Mazama Campground - Crater Lake National Park: Stayed in electric site on F loop. They use a color system for selecting sites. It seems confusing at first but works. They have fresh water fill ups and a dump station. They bath house in F loop even has 3 free hot water showers. CG is a 20 minute drive from lake. Lake is BEAUTIFUL. If u want to see Crater Lake you definitely want to stay at this CG.

Gaoakleys

For Mazama Campground - Crater Lake National Park: The location gave us an early start to see Crater Lake and thus avoid the crowds somewhat and we received half price with our America the Beautiful but other than that, the campground had little going for it. It was, as stated previously, very frustrating driving up and down seeking a spot facing the table with your color. The few electric sites were taken. We spent much wasted time seaching for showers near a campsite when a map or thoughtful word would have alerted us that the only showers were located next to the front desk. Even at that you got 4 minutes for .75 cents and 2 of those minutes were spent trying to get the hot water to flow. I was lucky for my husband never did get hot water. If you have other options than this park, take them.

Rocky

For Mazama Campground - Crater Lake National Park: Reservations only mean you will have a spot somewhere in the campground. You have to park near the village store and check in at the kiosk to find out what color coded site you are allowed. Then drive up and down the various loops to find a site that works for you. Afternoon shaded sites are very hsrd to vome by. They also give walkins the same priority so it can be a real pain. Not at all happy with their reservation policy. Campground overall is nice. Location is good and closest to south entrance.

For Mazama Campground - Crater Lake National Park:

Mazama Village Campground - September 12, 2015 $31.00 - no power. Very few sites with water/power. Beautiful Campground- Lots of trees, however when driving into the campsites half of the sites you end up facing the road... not the campsite. Lots of people...touristy due to Crater Lake nearby. Restaurant/store - Did Crater Lake Rim Tour... was worth the $25.00 Bring your fishing rod... right now the lake is overstocked with trout and salmon. You don't need a fishing license... and they are encouraging people to fish. There is half hour hike down to the lake to fish... and takes longer coming back up. Crater Lake is amazingly beautiful!
