For Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park: Beautiful park. We stayed here one night in site 42, full hookup, on our way down 101. Very lush, sites are fairly close to one another but the foliage gives a sense of privacy. Site was paved and reasonably level, easy to back into, and fit our 40” truck/TT combo nicely. Water pressure was low, about 34 PSI, pedestal was good. Note- the sewer connection was a bit wonky, a large galvanized steel pipe with a sideways 90 on top, so your hose will be entering sideways. I had to really dig deep in my collection of “dirty donuts” to find a combo that would stay in place with the help of a few big rocks. We were here in mid-September and had a bit of a problem with pine cones dropping on our roof and sap dripping. One night and I had to climb on the roof to sweep the pine cones off before pulling in the slide. Short 1/2 mile walk to a simply stunning beach- fine white sand for a mile in either direction, and virtually nobody on it. Camp host was very nice, didn’t run into any Nazi-Rangers as mentioned in another review, maybe they moved on. Camp host had firewood for a few bucks a bundle. We had reservations and the camp was very full for the shoulder season- I think it is all reservation at this point in time. Note- absolutely zero AT&T service, and way too many trees around our site for our Starlink. Some of the other sites near the bathroom clearing would probably support Starlink. We would stay again.

For Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park: No complaints. Nice, secluded, level, shaded spots. Easy walk along a wooded trail to the beach.

For Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park: We absolutely love this park. I love the half mile trail to the beach. We actually take our bicycles and ride to the beach and proceed to ride our bikes on the beach. I absolutely love the beach on this area of the coast. Not a lot of rocks with a few tide pool areas for playing in. The campground is really well-maintained and the facilities are top-notch. The only complaint I have is the Nazi for a park ranger who patrols this park. I don’t know if it’s the bluegrass music I had playing when she came to check us out or what but this lady came and hassle desk multiple times for absolutely nothing. In fact at 9 o’clock at night she came by just to make a special reminder that quiet time is at 10 and my little tiny iPod radio needs to be off. I am telling you my volume was super low when she walked up so apparently the park ranger does not like the youth camping here and by youth I mean middle age 40. She also decided to remind me about if my son rides his bike he needs to have a helmet. This goes beyond being a park ranger as now she was trying to stick her nose into my parenting skills. She also hassled my friends when they showed up before they even had a chance to pay for the extra vehicle pass. I hope this lady retires soon I have never had anyone be such a downer at a campground. She must hate her job or something. We camp everywhere and have never ever hassled before, we are good campers we don’t disturb anyone we don’t play loud music. Don’t you remind people about rules and regulations if they are abusing them first? This lady is out of her mind and could prevent us from frequenting the park more often. I really had to sit on my tongue to avoid escalating this poor lady’s deranged mental status. Be aware!

Just a camper

For Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park: Nice campground. We stayed here for one night in April on a Saturday and had no problem getting a spot. We made a nice hike to the nearby lighthouse. The campground has full hookups and therefore is a bit on the expensive site.
Be aware there is no ATT cell phone reception at all!

Nomadnoble

For Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park: Great campground that is 100% non reservable. Get there early and you'll probably get a spot. Half a mile path to the beach or drive to the day use area across the 101 and you right there. Convienent free dump with potable water in day use(as it seems is the case in OR state parks) if your just passing through. Full hookups or electric/water plus a walk in tent area. Clean restrooms and showers. A great place if your on a no itinerary trip like us. Once you get a spot, you can stay for 14 nights, pay day by day. We explored the central Oregon coast from here.
