Cindy Sous

For Chickahominy Reservoir Campground: Wide open BLM campground on a lake, with bathrooms and picnic tables. Effective 4/1/2023, $16 per night ($8 senior pass). We camped in a Class B. We would camp here again.

JR Fent

For Chickahominy Reservoir Campground: We have a big coach and rarely boondock or dry camp. But we lived it at Chichamony. Amazing sunset and super quiet. I’m heading back soon.

Rand800

For Chickahominy Reservoir Campground: Unexpected gem in eastern oregon, BLM land, pit toilets, several hundred yards from highway so noise was distant. We stayed right by the water and saw a beautiful sunset. No trees, landscape is lava rock and sage with reservoir. Campsites were separated by quite a bit of space. Only three other campers besides us during our visit. Minimal space for setting up tents due to lava.

ASG

For Chickahominy Reservoir Campground: This is a BLM Campground with picnic tables, restrooms, trash cans, labeled sites, and a boat launch ramp. This is very easy to get to, right off of Highway 20, west of 395. Cost is $8/night ($4/night with National Park Pass). Sites are level and most are pull-thru. Plenty of room for our truck and 35’ fifth wheel. The lake is pretty and the surrounding area is desert like, with scrub brush covering the ground between the camp sites. It can get windy during the afternoon. It is close to the highway, but we didn't notice any highway noise at all. If you like these kinds of environments (which I do, and the wife does not), then this is a great campground at a great price. AT&T and Verizon were both strong. Fresh water spigots were available at a few locations in the campground. We would stay there again.

Roadside for 2

For Chickahominy Reservoir Campground: Great spot stayed 1 night. Site 31 was no problem for our 34 ft fifth wheel & has a great view of lake. $8 for per night / no hook ups / no trash dumpster / great weather 82/51. Verizon 4bars LTE Stayed 7/21/18

Grannyjane

For Chickahominy Reservoir Campground: Checked in at 5pm on Thursday 7/20/17 with 27 ft TT. Plenty of large pull throughs. 88 degrees outside but as soon as awning out and windows open the breeze brought temp inside down to 74. There were 3 other units. Primitive but dry camping at its best.

ZanderManda

For Chickahominy Reservoir Campground: Stayed one night while traveling through. Great little spot, maybe 25% full on a Friday night. Clean pit toilets. #11 is a good spot if you want privacy (waterfront spots all taken). Light wind at night. Still $8.
