For Cold Spring Campground: No hook ups but we loved it here. Great sites nestled in the pines. Didn’t use toilets. 4 miles from the cute town of Sisters. Would stay here again. Be mindful that Google has you turning on road 1012 but the entrance to the campground is immediately past road 1012.

For Cold Spring Campground: What a sweet little place! We traveled cross country and de died to see what we could find near Jackson and Teton National Park. We found this campground which was close enough to go to Teton National Park but not have to plan reservations months in advance. There are a variety of sites, most back in and a few tent only. The vault toilets were spotless and cleaned daily. The campground hosts very friendly and attentive. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed every minute. The only downside is that it is next to the roadway although the noise was not bad. It is very small so there were limited dog walking opportunities in the campground. However there are many trails on USFS land that are dog friendly, unlike TNP. we would definitely stay here again.

For Cold Spring Campground: We traveled across country and chase to stay in this campground near family and friends. It is only a few miles from the western town of Sisters and a little longer to Bend. It is truly a lovely and well used little campground with a cold spring supplying the water. Our site was large enough to accommodate our small trailer and 2 tents. We did not exceed the 6 person limit and paid for the extra cars. However, I am giving it a three for a couple of reasons. 1) This is the only US Forest campground we stayed in during 2 months that had not upgraded the vault toilets for decades. They were ok but another camper who frequents the campground brought lime to dump in the vault as it is apparent they had not been cleaned out for years either. They were tolerable but just barely. They did not get swept or mopped in the 8 days we were there although the campground host left toilet paper before she had to leave for a family emergency. 2) The management company contracted to run the campground did not seem to understand either the campground usage or the normal protocols of the US Forest Service campgrounds. We took an “open site”and spoke with the campground host to be assured we could have the site for 8 days (USFS allows up to 14 on open sites). The evening of day 4, another camper showed up with a confirmation for that site. It was not on the host’s print out. USFS open sites DO NOT not normally switch between open and reserved but this one did. Fortunately, there was another open site for the other camper. We had also spoken with the USFS office in Sisters previously to paying the fee for 8 days and they also said the site was ours for up to 14 days. I have to put this one on the management company. I will go back if we are out that way again. However, I do hope the USFS will upgrade the vault toilets and change the management company. If not for the second issue, I would give 4 stars.
