For Scotrun RV Resort: Campground Name: Scotrun RV Resort Location: Scotrun, PA Overall Campground Rating (1-5): 5 Maneuverability*: Roads are two-way and narrow so dealing with oncoming traffic can be an issue. Campground Notes: Quiet but close to mountains, trails, restaurants, and shopping. Site #: E-48 Site Rating (1-5): 5 Site Notes: Gravel site has plenty of shade and backs to the woods with 50-amp full hookups. Very long and wide site with plenty of room for the trailer and truck and although it is pretty sloped from front to back, we were able to get level. Picnic table and fire ring. Amenity Rating (1-5): 5 Amenity Notes: Three pools although the one with the waterslides was closed. The other two were nice though. Really nice playground, basketball course and court, and mini-golf course. The lake is nice with a small fishing dock and plenty of fish to catch. Reason for camping here: visiting the Pocono Mountains Miscellaneous Notes: No recycling in campground but plenty of trash bins. Dates Stayed: 8/8/2021-8/15/2021 Price Paid: $0 with Thousand Trails membership Weather: Highs is the low to mid 90s, lows in the low 70s, with occasional passing thunderstorms Verizon Cell Quality: 2 bars – 8Mb/s down, 3Mb/s up T-Mobile/Sprint Cell Quality: 2 bars – 9Mb/s down, 3Mb/s up Mail: No mail delivery at campground but Weis supermarket down the road has Amazon lockers For reference we are pulling a 33’ long Jayco travel trailer with a 2016 F350 Crew Cab Short Bed 4x4 which is 22’ with hitch giving us a total length of 55’. For hotspot data we have an Inseego 8800L on Verizon’s expired prepaid unlimited hotspot plan. For Sprint/T-Mobile, we use an Alcatel Linkzone 2 on Calyx Institute’s unlimited plan. For Scotrun RV Resort: This is a limited review as I only stayed one night. The most important piece of information that I want to share is that due to construction on PA 611 you need to look carefully for the entrance to the resort. At the moment (6/20/2019) you can only enter the resort going west bound on PA 611. When you exit you can only continue west bound and must u-turn about a 1.5 miles further west in order to return east and get back on RT-80 east bound. As I mentioned I only stayed one night - this was as planned. The Ranger was very friendly. The site that I had was level, with good gravel coverage, and had electric, water, and cable which I did not use. The bath house was dated but clean. There was plenty of hot water. There is construction going on at the resort and some of the roads were quite muddy (it was raining the night I stayed and had been for several days). I plan to go back and will update the review with any additional relevant information.
