For Mountain Top Campground: Very nice, rustic site run by a friendly and caring family atop a beautiful mountain overlooking Alleghany valley. Humble and charming, with a small performance area and when I visited, there was a very pleasant live bluegrass performance. It's quiet there, and wooded. A little breezy, good if you need fresh air, and a view of the valley. It's about a 10 minute trip to Tarentum, outside of Pittsburgh, which has lots of grocery markets and stores, and maybe 20-30 minutes to Pittsburgh itself. Looking forward to visiting again.

For Mountain Top Campground: Wow, one of our favorite campgrounds, peaceful quiet, amazing views!!! Very accommodating, ended up calling and arriving a day early, and was able to extend our stay a night. Sight 43 is fantastic, backs up to a valley with amazing views. We stayed during the Fourth of July holiday and we’re able to see fireworks nightly from the far off towns from our fire ring. Location is great, Pittsburg is just minutes down the road

For Mountain Top Campground: We had slide issues leaving our last site and Mountain Top was incredible understanding and accommodating to our late arrival. It’s a no frills campsite but for 4th of July they had a bluegrass band and bbq for purchase. The pull through spot are very close together and our table was facing the other. I’d prefer more privacy but it’s would be great for a buddy site. That’s why I put 4 stars. But being so close to the city and their customers service, we’ll definitely go back when in the area but will ask for a different spot.

Dean Becker

For Mountain Top Campground: Stayed here for a month. A nice, quiet, pretty place with good views from the top of the mountain (hence their name). Shade is marginal, depending on where they put you. It seems they put long term residents in one area and the transients in another (somewhat nicer) area. Most sites do not have sewer, but there is a truck that comes around every Wednesday to dump your tanks and that is included in the weekly rate. For grey water, they have a hose attachment that carries the grey about 50 feet down the mountain. They have a dump station that is accessible, though it's a tight squeeze for large rigs. The road up and down is a minor challenge in a big rig (we have a 42' plus towing a car), but entirely doable. **Definitely follow their site directions regarding how to get there. If you go the wrong way in a big rig, you'll be sorry.** Essentially you need to arrive from the South, not the North. It's about 20 minutes from anywhere interesting in Pittsburgh. Water pressure is decent. Had to have them replace the 50A breaker when we got there. After that, all good. The WiFi was good in our spot. Other campers complained that it wasn't working but Netflix worked just fine for us.

For Mountain Top Campground: Difficult drive up to this campsite but when you get there it’s lovely! Beautiful vistas over a valley where you could probably see 50 miles and the only thing you see is a barn. Beautiful sunsets! Very nice, helpful people. Highly recommend a stay here!

For Mountain Top Campground: very much enjoyed our stay here. A little challenging on the ride up the mountain but none the less we did it in our 38'fifth wheel. It is about 25 minutes from everything to see. The campground is on a mountain top with 90 percent of the spectacular views overlooking a valley. It was recently purchased by a very nice family who is constantly upgrading. Wifi was being brought in as well as a full sewer hookup. Right now its just grey water waste. Which was fine for our week stay. Highly recommend a stay here.
