Doc

For The Campground At James Island County Park: Nice park with lots of trees. Bathhouses get sanitized often. Every one wearing masks and social distancing. Staff is helpful. A shady park. No cable but lots of OTA from Charleston.

For The Campground At James Island County Park: Literally our first RV park ever! We just began a cross country trip with our kids! Gorgeous spots, beautiful bike trails, fun playground, peaceful nature spots. What a great spot!

TREY

For The Campground At James Island County Park: Gorgeous park with awesome amenities for everyone/every type. The staff is extremely friendly, facilities are pristine, and the location is second to none. Stayed two nights and it’s all it took to convince me this our new spring break spot over others on the coast. Visit, it’s worth the trip. Would have given 5 stars but the fact that you have to pay for some of the amenities on top of the campsite drove the rating down, however the prices are not bad.

Leslie

For The Campground At James Island County Park: James Island County Park is great and we’ll definitely re-visit. We stayed with a 32ft MH, no tow. Clean facilities, lots of bike/running trails and spacious public areas. Our campsite was spacious, pretty level. The Wifi was TERRIBLE; we never were able to connect even though we were within sight of the main office. But it didn’t matter because we took the $10 shuttle into Charleston at 9am and returned at 4pm and were wiped out! The shuttle is a great resource if you (like us) don’t have a tow car. Staff are friendly. Watch out for mosquitoes; I got bit twice just while leveling out.

Catharine

For The Campground At James Island County Park: One of our new favorite campgrounds. Perfect for families. We enjoyed the trails, playgrounds, splash pad and especially the water park (separate admission) which is right next to the campground. Took about 15 minutes to get to Folly Beach and about 20 to get to downtown Charleston. The nicest campground bathrooms I’ve seen. Well stocked camp store. A few activists offered throughout the week

Cesna172

For The Campground At James Island County Park: Campground is located in a large county park with hiking trails, a dog park, fishing and a water park. Campground is very clean. Sites are dirt but level. Many have full hookups. We had 50 amp electric with water and sewer. Office staff are very nice. We made reservations over a month before staying here. Check in was fast and efficient. Grounds are gated in the evening but there is a touch pad to open the gate after hours. Grounds are about 14 miles from downtown Charleston. We would stay here again.

John

For The Campground At James Island County Park: The park is very large! We were pulled over around 7:30 trying to find our reservation email at night and ranger approached and escorted us in. Very helpful at check in. Tons of activities in this County Park! We barely scratch the surface. Lots of paved trails. Fishing kayaking paddle boarding rock wall climbing and splash pad. Our site #48 was partially secluded. The bath houses were clean, spacious, well maintained with hot showers and never crowded. We stayed here and toured Charleston which is about 6 miles away. We're planning to visit often!
