Whiskeyrovers

For Lakewood Camping Resort: Great for military because they are part of #tentsfortroops. With your military ID you get 2 two day visits in the peek and off season for free! That’s right 8 days a year to enjoy all parts for the camp ground for free. Great family park, close enough to down town Myrtle beach but far enough away to keep all the bad parts of the town away. The grounds are very well taken care of. Staff where very nice.

For Lakewood Camping Resort: Was here Easter week ; way too much noise and traffic.
Junky and messy looking park.
Will never, ever come back.

Adam

For Lakewood Camping Resort: We had a great stay here in October. Lots of activities for the family including a nice water park with slides, paddle boats, miniature golf, and fishing ponds. All of this is available at no extra charge. Yes the sites are smaller, but with the beach and activities to enjoy we weren't on site to often.

Chris

For Lakewood Camping Resort: Nice campground but very crowded with their 1000+ sites. The amenities are great, waterpark, paddle boats among other things. Golf carts are available for rent but are pricy to do so. You WILL get run over if your not paying attention. There is no enforcement for them and kids drive as well. The spaces are great size as well. Noise is unavoidable as we heard loud music and conversations until after midnight. Safety was a big concern with no sidewalks. Would stay again but would consider different time of year.

Six for the King

For Lakewood Camping Resort: An awesome family friendly campsite with a plethora of amenities! The bathrooms were kept very clean, the staff was friendly, and the prices for food was affordable. Campsites were set up with water, sewer, and 30/50 electricity. Proximity to the beach is close but golf carts are available for rent. We liked how there are different sectors to choose from based on shade, bathroom proximity, beach proximity, etc. Church services are available on Sunday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's with many church related activities between. We attended the Sunday church service which was very relevant, engaging, and had awesome worship. Children's church was also offered and our young children really enjoyed it.
We stayed in a shaded lot in the light pink sector on the map (sector 1 or 3) on lot 1230 where the root systems of the trees were so bad our child tripped and required an urgent care visit due to the toe injury sustained. Although golf carts are a great idea, the 10mph speed limit is not enforced so golf carts zooming by walkers is regular and dangerous. Many rules are not enforced and are a hazard to others staying there. The 10mph rule is not enforced with any vehicles which posed a hazard to our bicycling children, fireworks were shot randomly and consistently throughout the week, and the consistent high traffic in our section was more than we had anticipated.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the coffee shop, water park and activities, great ice cream shop, Sunday worship service/activities, and family friendly atmosphere. We were annoyed by a few unenforced policies; however, we will be back to enjoy this family owned resort...just maybe in a different sector ?

Owen Family of 5

For Lakewood Camping Resort: This is our favorite camping spot to date-we've been here 4x. Love the grounds, clean, level, full EWS at each site. WiFi and Cable. LOTS for the family to do right on site-even if you have to wait out the rain. Indoor heated pool, kids activities, free bike and activity rental (deposit required but you get it back) store, this place just has it all! And you can't beat the price, even at peak season, for all there is included. Right on the beach, where even if you're in the back of the park it's not too far to walk. Golf carts available for rent though. Great water park on site. I love that there are lifeguards at the pools and on the beach. Can't say enough good about this gem though, my family loves it here!

Xatlatc

For Lakewood Camping Resort: This review is for the off season rates and off season crowds. I never envisioned staying at a park with almost two thousand sites but here I am. Look at a satellite picture of this place. Probably half of the sites are park model units rented and lived in full time. This park has a coffee shop, lazy river, in door pool, basketball, golf cart and bicycle and golf cart rentals. It's a beachfront resort. The camping sites have few to no trees but each site has electric with water and sewer is abundantly available. Oh, good cable television too. The beach is 100 feet from our site and the waves crashing on the beach provides great white noise to put you to sleep. Last night we stayed at a nearby state park for a few bucks less, shaded, no cable and so-so sites. For the off season this place is pretty nice but I hesitate to even be in Myrtle Beach from Mid April to September. Wifi is strong throughout the park as I've seen at least eight remote towers in the park. Maybe they increased the towers since the previous reviews. Verizon coverage LTE is two to three dots/bars. We have a Toyota Warrior for our voyages and the sites are nicely level.
