For Lake Pointe Resort: We stayed there for about 2.5 years. They even gave me a full time job doing maintenance during COVID. Then they created a position for me as Operations Manager in March of 2021. In July they fired me. No reason was given. Then they just decided to not accept our monthly payments. They gave us 60 days to move. That was four days ago. We left today. The adult pool deck is literally going downhill. It has been moving that way for over a year but they just told me that it "wasn't in the budget" to fix it. The pool surrounds around both pools are cracked and falling apart. The roads are really bad, especially after a hard rain. The maintenance staff can literally be seen standing around smoking cigarettes and not working for two hours per day that they are getting paid for. That is $22,000 a year that they are throwing away on labor with zero return, and the "supervisor" is the worst offender. Should I go on? There are feral cats. At least a dozen or more that live on site. Only half the dryers work on any given day, they don't have anyone to maintain them, and apparently don't even notify customers that they are out of order. Even though there is a leash rule, people who live there (and some weekenders) let their animals, dogs and cats, literally run free. The decks are about 40 years old and failing. Again, it isn't "in the budget" to fix them, even though last year the "resort" brought in over a million dollars in sales. There is a big difference between "Rustic" and "run down," and at about $87 dollars a night for a "premium" spot, which just means there are no RVs between you and the lake, but it could still be washed out gravel with lots of trees so that even if you pulled in forward you still can't see the lake, I would expect more.
