For Lakeview - Lake Colorado City State Park: Lake view has no hookups. Spot 96 is best for view and a dirt trail that leads to water. All boulders so wear shoes and bring a noodle or vest. Other two campgrounds have hookups but no view whatsoever. We re traveling so good for overnight.

For Lakeview - Lake Colorado City State Park: This is a great spot overlooking or on the lake. Several long pull throughs. Clean restrooms and showers. Worth the few miles off I-20. Ask Martha in the office about the Boston Marathon.

For Lakeview - Lake Colorado City State Park: We are on our way from KC to Big Bend N.P. and found this gem. We called several days before arriving and found out that the park is not staffed on Tues. or Weds. but the staff will give you an entry code. Once we were in, we were surprised to find the park mostly empty. I believe there are well over 100 lots and many tent spots as well and we are one of four to five groups here. The park is well maintained and clearly marked. There are two dump stations and several bath houses (they are a little out of shape, but the water pressure and temp was quality.) I imagine the bath houses would be a problem if the park was crowded, as several of the toilets were in operational. There are pull through and back in sites and most seem to have electrical and water, and surprise, Wi-Fi. We were not expecting that!!! If you have pets, you might be cautious of the little prickly things on the ground. I have had to keep my dog on the pavement as they get stuck in her paws pretty easily. A nice pair of doggie booties might help. I tried to pay, but the rangers had forgotten to put out any payment envelopes, I am hopeful they are there tomorrow so we can pay, otherwise we'll just drop the payment in the slot and have a clear conscience. All in all very nice park.
