For Malaquite Campground - Padre Island National Seashore: I love this beach. We went the weekend after Labor Day and there were only a couple campers left over from the holiday weekend. Basically we had the entire beach to ourselves, other than one or two other campers. We originally set up camp on the beach, but decided to move up to the camping area so we would have access to the facilities. It was very cheap...I think $15 a night or maybe less... either way it was affordable. I’m not sure if I’d enjoy it if it was super busy but highly recommend it.

For Malaquite Campground - Padre Island National Seashore: Wonderful campsites. Yes there’s no utilities but you are just off the beach. Only have cold showers 🤨. You can go down the road and drive on the beach which was fun. We even bicycled on the beach. The sand is so hard it was no problem other than the wind. One direction it was like peddling up hill because of the wind but going back we flew. Wonderful place we’d definitely go back

For Malaquite Campground - Padre Island National Seashore: I guess the one bummer about this place is it’s a approximately a 10 mile drive to get down there only to find out they are full. It’s first come first served. That didn’t happen to us but it easily could of. The beach side is just slightly better than bay side. Bathroom/Showers only offer cold water. Dump station at entrance. Beach access is really close and easy walk. Just south of there you can drive south on beach for 60 miles ! ( 4X4 recommended) nearby Visitors Center tells of their Turtle Program and the History of Padre Island. It’s definitely dark and quiet there.

For Malaquite Campground - Padre Island National Seashore: Great place to rustic camp. There are lukewarm showers and a bathhouse. All water sites have gravel pads and all back lots are paved. Each site offers a picnic table, water sites also provided a grill. The grounds were clean and well maintained. You are very close to the Gulf, with a light breeze all the time. Snake haters be aware... There was a juvenile rattlesnake in the men’s bathroom and a coral snake on our neighbors door step... Red on Black, friend of Jack, not the Red on Yellow, kill a fellow... The sand dunes were beautiful and there’s a wonderful visitors center close by.

For Malaquite Campground - Padre Island National Seashore: We stayed here in our RV in Jaunary 2018. The campground was nearly full, although we were able to find a nice site okay (no reservations accepted). The sites are gravel and are layed out at an angle, so even though they are closely spaced we didn't feel too crowded. The beach is very nice, and is located just over the dune from the campground. There is no water or electricity at the sites, but water and a dump station are located just outside the campground entrance. I would have given it 4 stars if the sites had water and electric.

For Malaquite Campground - Padre Island National Seashore: Any park where I can see and hear the ocean from my RV will get 5 stars. Clean facilities, great beach.
