Leslie

For Franklin Mountains State Park: Beautiful sunsets from campsite RV 3. Quiet place only 3 campers in the park last night.

Slim

For Franklin Mountains State Park: Gate was locked at 7pm. Later I checked with the state park website it says gates are locked from 5pm to 8am weekdays.

taminacan

For Franklin Mountains State Park: Small campground with only a few sites, although they converted some picnic spots to tent sites. NO water or electric, so bring all the water you need. Composting toilets, fire pits and tables. Lots of trails for hiking and biking but not very well-marked. Like others say, don't use Google Maps to navigate to HQ -- it's in a different area of the park. Head toward the Tom Mays Unit off of 375/Transmountain Rd. $8 for a campsite plus $5pp entry fee. Pretty and isolated, but only a short drive to amenities.

Young Fulltimers

For Franklin Mountains State Park: Small, really only three RV spots. But at under $20 and close to town, can't go wrong. Pro tip: don't go to HQ office, only where Google Maps tells you. May need to u-turn to access park bc of construction. Also, bring exact change or checkbook during weekdays.
